Cavalry Portfolio Services, Merchants Credit Guide Company ripoff MONEY HUNGREY Hawthorne New York, Chicago,Illinois

I have been fighting with Cavalry Portfolio, AKA Cavalry Investments since October, 2001 to the tune of $11,361.92.

The first letter I received was about a debt from 5th 3rd Bank (an auto loan) which had been discharged in bankruptcy in 1987. Fifteen collection letters later and thousands of letters and calls to Cavalry from me, the last call was to a Mr. Neil Gallelli who said he would have the debt cleared from their records as I gave him the information needed to close the file. CLEARED FROM THEIR RECORDS YES........... maybe...not exactly..

They obviously sold the debt to Merchants Credit Guide Co. out of Chicago, IL. Today, October 25, 2004, I received a letter from Merchants Credit saying their client is TITAN RECOVERY GROUP, LLC. The new amount of the debt they are trying to collect for this old 5th 3rd loan is in the amount of $4,097.39. It appears that now they are trying to collect the same debt that was dismissed in 1987.

I am tired of going around in this vicious circle. IS THERE NO END TO THIS FOOLISHNESS?

The letter is signed by Ken Hughes and has the phone number 888-249-4134-but you can't through to that number. It is probably just as well that I don't. I am very upset about these collection debtors that don't do their research to see if there actually is a debt.

Any sugggestions anyone?
