This company along with other companies are purchasing and selling off paid collection accounts.
Not only does CCS of Newton MASS. purchase already paid collection accounts, but when you call to verify and inform them of the account's status, they are extremely rude and will most of the time hang up on you.The guy said you owe xxxx have a good day and disconnected the phone line.

I paid off an account to Penn Credit Corporation in May of 2006. In December or 2006 I received the same debt collection from a different collection agency CCS of Newton. The same account # and amount.

These collection agencies are collecting and reselling off the accounts for collection again..
THAT'S HOW THEY STAY IN BUSINESS
THEY SCARE YOU INTO PAYING THE SAME DEBT OVER AND OVER
I REPORTED THIS TO THE BBB AND SENT BOTH AGENCIES
PENN CREDIT CORPORATION AND CCS OF MASS. THE SAME RECEIPTS AND DOCUMENTS. WHAT WILL BECOME OF IT?

MAKE COPIES OF ALL YOUR PAID OFF DEBTS AND KEEP IN A FILE, YOU WILL NEED TO PRODUCE THEM A LITTLE LATER IN TIME TO A DIFFERENT AGENCY
DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT, IT'S YOUR MONEY AND CREDIT
BEST OF LUCK
GOD BLESS

#2 Consumer Suggestion

calling your grandmother

AUTHOR: Don - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, February 22, 2007

There is no excuse for them to be rude on the phone, espescially if the perosn they are speaking with is not being rude back.

Just making a guess, as you said you lived with your grandmother 3 years ago, that the alleged debt is from that time. All collection agencies have to send out a letter at the beginning of collection activity. From what I understand, it usually would be sent to the address used when the account was opened. Check with your grandmother to see if she has mail for you, or returned mail back to the post office

Very rude indeed

AUTHOR: Theresa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 21, 2007

My grandmother got a call from them looking for me yesterday. She told the woman on the phone that I was not there, I haven't lived there in almost 3 years, and the lady told her "look lady, you better get her on the phone within the next 30 seconds." My grandma got upset and told her "she is not here". Then the lady hung up on her. I have no idea what this is for? I have nothing at home from them a letter or anything!
