CD Model and Talent Southeast Model Search modeling agency a scam! You find the job and they get your money! Mt Pleasant, South Carolina

CD Models and Talent, same owner (Cory) as Southeastern Talent, makes you audition to be a model or actor.  You get a phone call the next day or so, telling you that you have been accepted and they want to represent you.  BUT.....once you get there, they let you know that BEFORE they will give you a contract to represent you, you have to PAY almost $600 for "workshops" (mine lasted about 2 minutes and that was the ONLY one they gave) professional photos by their senior photographer ( his photos SUCKED and I hated them) and comp cards.  They said the comp cards are expensive bc they are done down in Florida and printing and mailing them, yada yada...well, you can get comp cards done for about $75.  Yes, I was SCAMMED!!!! A REAL agency does NOT charge you to represent you!!!!! Also, I have heard from SEVERAL people that CD does NOT actively look for work for their talent.  They have you sign up for a website ( at YOUR cost) that posts jobs and YOU have to apply for them.  At that point, CD "negotiates" the contract and they get their 20% ( which is MORE than what reputable agencies charge).  Also, they have a national talent search that is suppose to be invite only.  My foot! Everyone gets invited and guess what, it is $1600 just to attend, and that does NOT include hotel, travel or food! And........the big agencies dont even GO to this event!!!!!
Save your money! Do not sign with CD.....they get your money up front and you get nothing in return but crappy comp cards.  I sent the owner an email, telling him of my concerns, and he basically said NO REFUNDS...........
If you are looking for a REAL agency, I have heard that ROBIN LEE and TOUT are reputable for modeling and COASTAL is good for talent. Cory and his wife are con artist........... dont get suckered into it.  They are smooth talkers but that it.  Once they have your money, you are on your own!
