I was looking for a place to rent a truck for my cdl test and came acrosss this plae on the internet. Called them up and they told me it was going to be $250.00 plus I was told that I had to get the @250.00 to them with in a certain amount of time or the price would be higher. I fell for it like I'm sure so many others do. I thought since it was going through Paypal it was actually legit. Was I ever wrong, as soon as they got my payment they sent me all kinds of emails with different contract information on them. I guess they thought if they sent it to me that way I wouldn't read what I was getting into. After I read the so called contract I then repeatedly tried to contact them. They would not answer their phone and I had so many questions. I knew that if I signed this contract they sent me that I would be obligated to going through with the process so I stopped payment.

I qoute from the contract, "The $250 is for the truck rental and the air brake sheet only. This payment authorization is for the Class A CDL Truck Program, for the amount above only, and is valid for one time use only.  There is another $10 fee if you pay by credit card. And another $260 fee for instructor and fuel. By signing & dating the signature line above I agree that all sales are final & there are no refunds."

So if I couldn't make the appointed time I was going to be out that money. I was told that I had to meet the driver in a warehouse parking lot at 1:00 A.M. and they would let me know what day as soon as they got 10 other people on the books for the same time.  Eleven people in one truck at 1:00 in the morning, isn't that illigal?

Another portion of the contract, "1) I agree should I decide to reschedule/cancel outside of 3 business days, before my scheduled road test date it will cost $100 to reschedule plus a $25.00 scheduling fee. The total owed would be $125.00.  2) I agree if I reschedule/cancel within 3 business days before my road test dat that I will pay a $250 fee for canceling. 3) I understand that if I am one second late to practice that it will result in a $250 reschedule fee. 4) If I fail the test  there is a $200 fine that must be paid within 72 hours. 5) If the instructor deems that I need more practice before my test it will be a $250 fee for each hour. 6) For a zero deductible insurance on the vehicle there is an extra $200 fee that will be collected in cash when you come to practice. 7) I understand that I am liable for a $5,000 deductible for any damage to the CDL Test Truck, Pererbilt 387, caused by any type of accident or any damage while I am driving. 8)If you black stripe the tires it is another $250 fee, pluse if you do black stripe the tires you just bought yourself the tire damaged at $1,750 each."

The actual contract has a lot more fees and fines in it and I was hoping to post all five pages of the contract but haven't the time today. After reading all this and all the emails that was sent to me I canceled my payment. I got a phone call from them then and let them know why I cancelled. This place is a scam just like the reviews on this site and others have been reporting.

WARNING READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE SENDING ANY MONEY OR SIGNING THEIR CONTRACT.

CDL Test Truck - CDL Truck Rentals in Allen, TX

My name is Clint and I am the one that wrote this report about this company and if you will look at the contract it states exactly what I said in my reveiw. I do not know who this person is they are accusing of writting this report, but I'm here to let you all know that it was not that person. They can select a nome from anywhere and say it was them for one reason or another. It has been some time back when I almost used this service not in July as they have stated. I do not want this person they speak of to have to take the blame for something I did.

I stand behind what I said about them, sure they can use that colorful talk in emails and in response to something that was said about them on the internet, but when it comes to being an honest company that is another matter. It may have been 10 people in the truck like I said it has been some time back, but even 10 people in one truck sounds dangerous to me. I would not trust anyone that does that and if there were law enforcement officials in the area why would they allow such practice.

Clifton Lee Ables is not being honest in his review and provided false information. The facts are as follows:

AUTHOR: CDL Test Truck - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 26, 2015

We take complaints very serious. Customers are important to us. Customers who use foul language and present themselves inappropriately we have the right to refuse service. We have scores of videos of happy clients who used our service.

Clifton Lee Ables of Godley, TX (not Dallas, TX) is not being honest in his report. First if you are going to leave a report then be completely honest of your experience. Mr. Ables contacted our office on 07/08/2015 to schedule a road test for 07/17/2015 in Waxahachie. Mr. Ables was told we meet at a Starbucks & Walmart parking lot next to the new Race Trac, not a desolate warehouse parking lot as Mr. Ables tried to portray. We meet there because it is lighted and there are cameras to protect the clients and vehicles. Also the Waxahachie Police, Ellis County Sheriff & Texas DPS State Troopers are always in that parking lot. Mr. Ables is not being truthful about not knowing when & where to meet, see the time date & stamped email attached with the address & time to meet describing the exact location. Mr. Ables email is the bables24 at live dot com.

Aslo Mr. Ables stated we said we would notify him once the schedule had been filled. Attached in a photo is our schedule for 07/17/2015 sent to the TXDPS office on 07/08/2015, which included Clifton Lee Ables. We also included a picture of the email sent to the TXDPS on 07/11/2015 cancelling Mr. Ables and replacing him with another client. These emails are time date and stamped. I find Mr. Ables claim of our service being called a scam we are in direct communication and scheduling with the TXDPS. See the emails in photos.

We did 10 road tests at Waxahachie on 07/17/2015, not 11 as Mr. Ables described.

The truck rental was $250. We told Mr. Ables we only had 1 opening out of 10 left on 07/17/2015. If he wanted that date he would have to pay a $250 deposit to secure the 10th position. If not and it filled we could schedule him for the following week. We never said the price would go up. This is either a misunderstanding or a complete fabricated lie to make his story seem better by Mr. Ables. Mr. Ables did not fall for it as he described. Me. Ables provided his complete driver license information we needed to schedule the road test, his email address and credit card information. We informed Mr. Ables that his credit card would be charged $250 truck rental deposit plus a $10 convenience fee for using the credit card for a total of $260. Mr. Ables was informed the $260 was a non-refundable deposit. Mr. Ables was also informed he would receive emails that would include the credit card form, a truck rental agreement & the air brake test. Mr. Ables agreed in a telephone-recorded conversation to accept the terms of the credit card charge and the charge for $260. The $260 was processed through PayPal, which we are a confirmed Verified merchant.

Mr. Ables was sent, through email, a credit card authorization form to fill out verifying the information given over the telephone. The form includes was not necessary because we have verbal confirmation but we like to keep a hard copy and a signature on record for PayPal to back up the verbal authorization recorded MP4 file. Mr. Ables filled the exact same credit card form, as he presented on this site, out and returned it signed agreeing to the charge. Mr. ables aldo sent a color copy of his Texas driver license for identification.

On 07/09/2015 Mr. Ables did call our office several times but never left a message. We have record of the incoming calls. A member of our staff, an intern who was in high school working with us this summer, did call Mr. Able’s number back after his second attempt without leaving a message. When contacting Mr. Ables, Mr. Ables chose to take his anger and aggression out on out on our teenage intern. Mr. Ables was very rude & disrespectful using a very intense inserted voice. Mr. Ables was neither in control of his temper nor in control of his choice of words to a teenager. Mr. Ables was using very inappropriate strong language. Mr. Ables was angry because no one answered his call the first or second time and demanded his money back. A supervisor over heard the conversation and after seeing the current demeanor of Mr. Ables on the phone with our intern the supervisor took control of the conversation and informed Mr. Ables that due to the foul language used and his actions were inappropriate we were choosing to cancel our service with him and we were refunding his money back immediately. The supervisor informed Mr. Ables that we had the right to refuse service. We refunded Mr. Able’s credit card on 07/08/2015 at 8:59am, see the PayPal refund receipt we added to the photos. Mr. Ables wasn’t truthful in this review when he stated in his complaint, “I cancelled my payment.” The truth is we cancelled Mr. Ables use of our truck rental service for his behavior and we refunded Mr. Ables credit card back cutting all ties and cancelling the non-refundable agreement he agreed to in the credit card statement.

Mr. Ables is a very angry individual who seems nice at first then has a split personality that becomes very aggressive and loses control of his choice of words. Mr. Ables is upset because we refused him service. On 07/17/2015 all 10 received their driver license. All 10 scored an average of 94% to 98%. We have video proof and the TXDPS score sheets to prove this claim. Mr. Ables did not receive our service and is angry because we refused service and cancelled his credit card deposit.

In our contract we have clauses to keep people accountable for their attendance, their driving and to protect our vehicle rented. Our rental contract is no different than a rental contract from any other rental service. We do not nit pick to nickel and dime. We have these rules in place to protect our self and other drivers on the road. All of our pricing is listed on the website.

Mr. Ables claims we are a scam when in reality we refunded Mr. Ables his deposit. We did not scam Mr. Ables we chose to terminate Mr. Ables use of our service, which made Mr. Ables very angry. My advice is don’t do business with Clifton Lee Ables. Mr. Ables is a very impatient man and vindictive man. Clifton Lee Ables is also very disrespectful to children, our teenage intern.

Clifton Lee Ables 05/01/1983 Godley, TX (not Dallas, TX)

Again, we take complaints very serious. Customers are important to us. Customers who use foul language and present themselves inappropriately we have the right to refuse service. We have scores of videos of happy clients who used our service. However we cannot make everyone happy like Clifton Lee Ables because we chose to refuse service to Clifton Lee Ables due to his behavior. We were not going to subject our employee, the TXDPS examiner and other clients to his negativity. We want to see people succeed not be distracted by a complainer.
