CEDAR PUBLISHING Corporation Fraudulent caller asking for money for an "unpaid" invoice Edmonton Alberta

1. They FAXed an invoice claiming UNPAID/OVERDUE invoice for over $200 for advertising in a foodbank magazine. They want you to call @1-888-454-3349

2. They claimed that they previously sent invoices of which we did not receive, nor did we do business with this company.

3. They then do a followup phone call asking in an unfriendly way, for the money for the supposed 'unpaid' invoice.

4. When you ask them for proof of the 'order', they claim that they don't have to provide that. they say that you said you wanted it on the phone and we sent you a fax. They claim that by receiving the fax we have entered into a contract with them.

5. We never do ordering or advertising in this way, and don't even have interest in their magazines.

6. Do a google search on the company and you will see that others have had the exact same scam from this company.

7. Even Crime Stoppers"has fallen victim to Cedar Publishing Corporation which had been publishing an unauthorized magazine entitled The Crimestopper Newsmagazine. This is was approved by "Crime Stoppers".

8. Crime Stoppers asks that companies and individuals contact their office directly at 780-421-1122 with questions or concerns as they work together to stop this misrepresentation.

9.The Competition Bureau considers their actions to be deceptive mail and telemarketing offences under the "Competition Act."
