I have had a horrible experience with Central Parking in Lexington, KY. I have been working at my job for 5 months now and it's downtown and requires us to have a parking pass with Central Parking which our company pays each month. When I received the pass from Central Parking I was told that the lot I was to park in is down the street on the left. So I found a lot right down the street on the left with a big Central Parking sign so I figured this is the place I should be parking. I parked there every day for 5 months. One day I go out to my car and have a parking ticket on it. I thought this must be a mistake, maybe they didn't see my pass or something. The next day I park in the same place and received another ticket. I called them and they said I was parked in the wrong lot. I explained that I had been parking there for the past 5 months and haven't received a ticket or any sort of indication I was in the wrong place. They said I was supposed to be parking in a lot 500 feet past the one I was parking in, which does not have a Central Parking sign in it. I have a Central Parking pass yet I'm supposed to be parking in a lot that doesn't have a Central Parking sign which is past the one that does have a sign. That isn't confusing at all...
Later I come to find out that 4 other employees at my work had also been parking in the wrong place due to their confusing directions and signage. We all received tickets and we all called trying to explain that they can't blame us for not knowing we weren't in the right place when clearly your parking attendants who are supposed to be giving tickets out everyday have been asleep for the past 5 months. We asked if we could get off with a warning and start parking in the correct lot now that we know where that is and they said "All tickets are valid".
A week later I hear that one of the employees that received tickets had called the corporate number and gotten his tickets voided after a two minute phone call. I figured I would give it a shot before I gave in and paid them. I spoke with a woman who kept saying "We should definitely be able to take care of those for you" then she saw that the location manager had most likely left a comment on my account saying that the tickets are valid and the woman I spoke with said it may take a few days but you'll hear back from me once we figure out if we can void them. A week later I still hadn't heard back so I decided to call again and due to a snow storm where their corporate office is located, no one was able to answer the phone for 3 days. I decided to email the corporate office and ended up emailing back and forth with a gentleman who kept telling me that the location manager has the last say and that they were not agreeing with voiding the tickets. I told him multiple times that a colleague of mine in the exact same situation who actually received more parking tickets than I had got all of his voided and all the corporate office could say was "There is nothing we can do." The unfair treatment of their customers is absolutely ridiculous. Not to even mention their employees who were supposed to be giving out tickets every day didn't do their job for 5 months. If I would've received a ticket the first week I started parking there, I would've had no problem at all paying it but this is ridiculous.
