I hired Central Painting/Services 3 years ago to paint my kitchen, living room and hallway. Phil Maher came and gave me an estimate promising spackeling holes, sandy down areas that would need it and doing prep work which is the most important step in a professional paint job. I wanted to purchase my own paint but he insisted he would get a better deal; yes a better deal on watered down paint! How does a coupon advertising  each room 120.00 without ceilings and closets turn into well over $800.00?  My home is small. He only did shoddy work on a kitchen, living room and short hallway!!! I am so happy I found your website to warn others to stay away from anything he says he can do!

I had to go to work that morning and said I would be back to pay him after I inspected the job. Phil Maher insisted I leave a check for him. I am a trusting person because I would never burn anyone. He left strangers in my house and ran to the bank to cash my check at 9am. How dare he! When I came home I found the worst paint job I've ever seen. Many missed spots which he blamed on my walls.... Not his workmanship or his paint. Globs of paint just slopped on and left in thick runs. My windowsills in the kitchen were light wood and I wanted them semi-gloss white which he said nobody uses anymore but would do. Not even 6 months later the paint is chipping off every window.

The missing areas were so blatant I called him immediately and he said to put sticky notes on the spots. The count was 42 sticky notes after a quick and upsetting inspection. The trim white is up on the walls. They didn't paint the area behind my entertainment center. He came back 2 days later and said he didn't know what happened. I know what happened. Shoddy work; in and out. He cashed the check so what was I going to do. I asked him to paint the walls over and do the job right. He said it would cost me. Cost me I already paid!!! He and his wife slapped a few dabs of paint on maybe 10 spots after he ripped down all the sticky notes.

What is so unforgiveable is the paint spatters all over my Ethan Allen furniture, couches, hardwood floors.I guess he doesn't use drop cloths.  I haven't repainted and can provide pictures to prove every statement I've made. Stay away from any company he calls himself at that given time. Phil Maher at Central Painting, Central Services, Star-Painters is a cheat who took advantage of me. He knows this and I'm sure many others have been ripped off by him too.
