Chad Covin and Covin Construction came down to Rockport after hurricane Harvey to help the community. Instead he prayed on the disaster of wonderful people and took their money with no respect for what he was doing to their houses. He demo our house. Pulled out windows and started on our new metal roof. In December he pulled his crew and left back to Pleasanton. After he left it rained and snowed which in turn flooded our house again, ruining everything we had fixed after the hurricane. We paid him for the material and the labor to finish our roof and put our windows back in. He never came back. We asked him many times on when he was coming back and he said he would when he could afford to come back. The wind inspector came out and we had to take the entire roof off and buy new material and pay for a new roof to be put on because he didn’t put the roof on to wind storm specs. He has constantly bothered and harassed us by text because he wants his tools that he left. He left an RV, cattle trailer, welding machine, fishing poles, kayaks, and numerous other things that did not have anything to do with construction. He was basically on vacation for 3 months. He owes us $40,000 that we paid him by checks that we have proof of. He says he is broke but he told us he owns the company that makes all the bbq pits for HEB to sell, pool company and a deer lease. Please do not let this scam artist on your property or his employees!
