I contacted Chaseagency.com for a quote on liability insurance for my dog. Their rates were very reasonable but as soon as I asked how the coverage worked they became far less reasonable. Mr. Chase Hunter refused to answer any questions and ended up getting very defensive. All I was asking was how this liability insurance worked, what it covered etc. He turned the whole thing around on me and started attacking me about why I was asking such questions. He then refused to offer me insurance after that. I have dealt with many insurance companies in my life and all will explain how the system works. If I call AAA, they would be glad to explain what my home owners insurance covers. This guy refused to. Be careful! This is hands down the shadiest company I have dealt with in a while. He should have no issue taking the time to explain thing to me. Stay away!

Helpful Information From Chase Hunter

AUTHOR: ChaseAgency.com - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 18, 2014

First, this complaint is made anonymously, so, I can't review any records to specifically respond.  Obviously, this person was not ripped off but is simply unhappy. So it is false to imply or state that he/she was ripped off.

Second, we know this rippoffreport is false because Chase Hunter is not a man.  And this person repeatedly refers to Chase Hunter as a man.

Third, it is very helpful for insurance applicants to know that sometimes they ask their insurance agent questions that raise red flags and this doesn't help. Let me give you some examples.

A man has only liability insurance for his car and asks his agent how much it costs to add physical damage and then asks, "Does physical damage cover me if I hit a deer?"  The wise insurance agent will wonder if this man hit a deer yesterday, has a lot of damage to his car, and wants to buy insurance today to cover yesterday's accident.  The wise agent will want to inspect the car before adding physical damage.  And maybe the man might feel attacked by this "underwriting" task.

Some insurance agents believe that if their clients' lips are moving, the clients are lying, and the agent needs to ask questions and get reports to verify the clients' statements.

Now, let's look at the type of applicant looking for insurance for his dog that will raise red flags for the wise insurance agent.  There was one time when a woman wanted to buy insurance for her elderly mom who owned a Chihuahua.  Under normal circumstances, this should be a quick transaction.  After all, a Chihuahua is harmless. But the woman kept asking very specific questions. She kept giving very specific claims scenarios and asking if such scenarios would be covered by the insurance.

Well, the wise insurance agent will believe that there was an incident with her mother's Chihuahua in the past that caused the woman concern.  It also tells the wise insurance agent that the woman may believe that she already has a claim brewing and she wants to quickly buy insurance.  It also tells the wise insurance agent that the woman may not have taken any steps to prevent problems with the Chihuahua and thinks that she can just buy insurance to solve the problem. But that is a mistake. All insurance companies require the insured to mitigate losses.

Now, let's look at this complaint again. This person sounds very, very angry. If a person is not happy with service, he/she can just find another insurance agent. But someone who takes the time to make a complaint on rippoffreport is someone with hostility; especially since he/she was not ripped off and could have gotten an insurance quote instantly online in less than 3 minutes.  If this hostility came through to the wise insurance agent, it doesn't help the insurance applicant who is looking for insurance for his dog. Frankly, if a person is this hostile without reason, the wise insurance agent will wonder how hostile the person's dog is.

The consuming public needs to understand that their attitude is underwritten by the wise insurance agent.  And if this person contacted me, I am quite certain that I would have also been treated with hostility. And no wise insurance agent wants to insure a dog owner who is hostile because the dog is also likely to be hostile.

Some insurance providers will provide a surplus lines contract to dog owners without regard for the dog owner's attitude. But that is because surplus lines contracts nearly never cover a claim anyway. So, there is no need to underwrite the dog owner because the chance a claim would be covered is very slim.

Some insurance agents are wise and others are just looking to make a commission.

Consumers, especially dog owners, can help themselves if they treat the insurance transaction as if they need to buy the insurance more than the insurance agent needs to sell it to them....because frankly, that is the case sometimes. You must qualify for all insurance policies you buy and qualifying is so much easier when the applicant is laid back, charming, calm, professional.....

Turn on your charm and you will see better results in everything you do! And if you don't want to use your charm, you can always post a complaint on rippoffreport. :-)
