I sold my car and the buyer paid in full, the money was sent via certified mail to Chase on 07/08. Chase recorded payment in full on 07/10.

07/21 Called to ask where the title was, had not received the document yet. According to Chase representative, Ken, the account reflected a balance of approximately $12. Chase representative acknowledges error and has the account closed w/paid in full. Ken indicates the Owner's Certificate will be mailed the following week (07/17)

7/25 Contact Chase to find out if the title has been mailed. Rep indicates title is being processed. I advise Rep that the delays are causing problems regarding insuring the vehicle. The new owner is unable to insure the vehicle as the insurance company indicate the new owner needs to have the title reflect his name before the insurance company will cover the vehicle.
The rep assures the title is being processed and will be mailed out by the end of the week.

7/27 Contact Chase to confirm title has been processed and mailed. Spoke w/Ken, he indicates owners certificate has been mailed. Confirmed address and title going to new owner.

08/03 Contact Chase and advised that the title has not been received. Rep indicates there have been complications because the title is not registered to Chase properly. Therefore Chase can't sign off on the certificate. I explain to the Rep I have an insurance bill and Chase' problems are now costing me real money. The owner can not insure the vehicle, yet I can not take the vehicle off of insurance unless Chase is accepting the liability of coverage for the vehicle. Rep recommends I don't remove the vehicle from my insurance. I ask to speak to a supervisor regarding the insurance bill I now have in my possession. I am transferred to Rebecca Rosario. I explain the situation and advise that I have an insurance bill now for which I should not be responsible for except for Chase' continued failures. If the owners' title is wrong, it has been wrong for 3 years. Chase should have recognized this the moment they received it and had it resolved then. Ms. Rosario apologizes and indicates she will speak to her management about re-imbursement for the insurance bill. She will contact me the following day with an update.

08/07 No contact from Ms. Rosario, I contact Chase and leave a message for Ms. Rosario requesting an update.

08/08 Call Chase again, get connected to Ms. Rosario. She advises Chase is still working on the owners title as Chase is unable to sign off on it because of the incorrect name. I explain again about the insurance bill, Ms. Rosario asks I fax her a copy of the bill and she will address this with her management.

I fax a letter with a timeline as indicated above with a copy of the insurance bill of $557.00

I realize that there are times when inconveniences cause delays.

In this case however, the delays are costing real money. I should not have to continue vehicle insurance on a vehicle I no longer own and subsequently the new owner should be able to insure his new vehicle under his own name. However, given the circumstances, I must continue to have the vehicle insured at all times until such a time that the new owner receives the vehicle title and can insure the vehicle himself.

While I understand mistakes occur, from the beginning however, the delays have been caused directly by Chase.

Just as Chase would have forced me to pay for insurance during the time I was the owner, in this case, I feel it appropriate and equitable that Chase pay for the insurance during the period they are trying to fix their negligence.
This is completely unacceptable that I pay for vehicle insurance on a vehicle I don't own anymore!
Chase has indicated they can not compensate for the insurance I must now carry.

Any ideas or whom I can contact regarding this?
