We listed multiple accounts with Chasemax (which later became Rothman & Wise). We never were getting updates or clear answers to what was going on with our accounts. In the end, the only accounts we were paid on were the clients that paid us directly.

When paid directly, Chasemax requested that we fax them a copy of the check. They ended up electronically debiting the customer's checking account (happened twice). Now we have 2 angry customers who have not had their money refunded. The double charge occurred in August and it is now the end of February. There has been nothing refunded to the customer.

Additionally, we were told since September that we would be receiving a check. Every week that I called they said "accounting" had the payment and it would be going out that day. I have never received this check.

Whenever I contacted them to try to go over accounts, what they owe us, the double charge, and the cease of collection efforts on our behalf Al Russo would set up a time for a phone call. He failed to EVER follow through on this. This went on for FIVE months.

I have received proof of payment to them from multiple customers showing that money WAS indeed collected. Soooo, they have stolen our money and do not intend to pay us back ever.

I would recommend NEVER using this company to collect for you and if they are calling and trying to collect money from you contact the original company you owe the money to and pay them directly b/c the company will never receive the money you have paid otherwise, and you will be passed along to another collection agency. Bad for the credit report.

We are now involving a lawyer in hopes of recovering our funds. The owners of Rothman & Wise (Leonard Rothman & Jim Wise) run an unethical company and are the very definition of "Scammers".

To avoid legal action and still resolve the couple of issues in question, I was told to delete the posting. The website does not allow me to do so (read under "Legal" section). I've done my reading and it cannot be done (not for lack of trying). It makes sense, but I hope that it will not hinder the resolution of our issues. We're getting so close!

I want to wrap this up, as does Mr. Russo of Rothman and Wise. We both are working on the couple loose ends left to close this out in a peaceful manner.

Since I cannot delete reports, but can list updates, I will post another update when everything is wrapped up to further show other possible readers/customers that Rothman & Wise took care of the problem in a satisfactory manner. A "case closed" posting if you will. :)

I have spoken with Al Russo and was informed that they bought Chasemax's accounts. I was never officially informed of this until this month. I am hoping that they are not trying to get out of paying us money based on the sale of their company. I found out that they weren't even working the accounts that they bought from Chasemax! I was not informed of this until this month either. Very disappointing. Had I known this I could have placed them with a reputable agency long ago with a better chance of collecting.

I am still waiting for copies of NSF checks to show that they never received payment from customers that have shown us that they DID pay. I finally received a check from Rothman & Wise (first one and we've been using them since July '08). The amounts on the accounting statement are incorrect.

I called and left a message for Al Russo 3/17/08 to try to resolve this.

Also, Al Russo stated that the customers who were double charged were not. He stated they tried to pull funds out of the account but that the funds were not available. I have contacted my customers to get a statement proving this double charge (or showing that they never were double charged).

In the end I still don't know what they were paid and what they were not paid. I have no way of knowing what they collected unless I go through and contact each customer which we placed with them. Embarrassing, but it looks like that's what will have to be done in order to know for sure.

I am really hoping to resolve this soon in a peaceful, timely manner.

Rothman & Wise bought out Chasemax, they are no longer a Chasemax company. Our accounts listed with Chasemax were bought by Rothman & Wise, but are no longer affiliated with the Chasemax name.

Al Russo of Rothman & Wise contacted me today (2/27/09) to inform me of my error. He stated that the issues between our companies will worked out on this coming monday.

Rothman & Wise bought out Chasemax, they are no longer a Chasemax company. Our accounts listed with Chasemax were bought by Rothman & Wise, but are no longer affiliated with the Chasemax name.

Al Russo of Rothman & Wise contacted me today (2/27/09) to inform me of my error. He stated that the issues between our companies will worked out on this coming monday.
