The sleezy owner sitting on his computer as his thousands of chatters are swamped with Pop-Ups containing harmful viruses and Spy-Ware.

Chat-Avenue have hundreds of Pop-Up Advertisements and some of these automatically install Spy-Ware onto your Computer and even Viruses.

This is TRUE since my and many other peoples Computers have encountered the same Virus and Spy-Ware from the same time.

The Spy-Ware will track what you look for mostly and then once every 10 minutes a Pop-Up will automatically come up onto your screen, it is REALLY annoying!

The evil man himself... The guy in charge of the Chat-Avenue advertising. You can see in his face how he simply loves ripping people off on his 500.00 PER month Advertising.

Suffering from being ripped off... An honest and innocent guy has to suffer the loss of $500.00 he paid Chat-Avenue to put his banner on their home page for a month, pity it was only there for 7 days.

The Viruses are the worst, they simply sit on your Computer and basically record everything you have written.

So MANY people have written to the Admin of the site on the Forums and VIA e-mail and this is what he says: "Sorry for the trouble but we'll try and see what we can do". Well good on ya! Pitty it has been 2 or 3 months now and NOTHING, yep NOTHING has been done!

Also... Many people have paid for advertising there, it costs 500 per month! Firstly it is a RIP OFF and secondly if you purchase it the owner will put your link on there for around 7 days max. Your banner will stay there but the link will go straight back to his site Chat-Avenue.

If you send him an e-mail he will say something like I'll give you another month or I'll try and fix it, NOTHING HAPPENS!

I strongly recommend you STAY away from Chat-Avenue and go to another chat site because doing this will take away their hits so they can't charge for advertising, have Pop-Ups and then they CAN NOT rip you off.

So I and HEAPS of other people who asked me to write this are saying:

"STAY AWAY FROM CHAT-AVENUE, THEY ARE NOTHING BUT THIEFS! THEY LET POP-UPS FLOOD YOUR COMPUTER AND EVEN WORSE THEY DON'T CARE IF A VIRUS IS INSTALLED FROM THE POP-UPS"

PS: Tell your friends about this HORRIBLE/SLEEZY site!

Thankyou :-)

Unsubstantiated Rubbish

AUTHOR: Ned_au_44 - (Australia)

POSTED: Saturday, January 07, 2012

I've visited this chat site on and off for almost 10 years. I signed up for the Forums in 2009. Like most chat rooms it does have it's share of disruptive patrons. Most of the problems I've seen there are caused by spammers ,flooders and the occasional personality clash with a moderator . Most of which are delt with by the site moderators.I've never been asked for money and have never seen multiple pop ups or had any form of virus implanted on my system from this chat site. To be blunt, the claims made by the author,Cameron, are pure fabrication.

If i where running a site like this that allows people to air there grievances regarding a particular company or person I would make it mandatory that evidence be provided to substantiate the claims being made. At the very least this web site should carry out some form of investigation. Other wise the credibility of this site will be lost.

In response.

AUTHOR: Craig - (Australia)

This is more in response to the above rebuttal then the actual report..

I use IE and it has a very capable pop up stopper with it.. I gave Firefox a try and although it wasn't a bad browser, IE was a much more safer browser.. It also loaded things much smoother, in some cases with firefox things didn't load properly at all..

So if your getting popups and have all the latest updates from microsoft then it would be spyware on your computer.. In which case you should try SpyWareBlaster to stop most spyware from getting on your computer in the first place.. An try Ad-Aware and SpyBot - Search and Destroy to scan for SpyWare..

It won't get rid of everything, there are certain things that neither get.. But they get most..

Pop ups and stuff

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 26, 2005

Quick question. Are you using Internet Explorer (Microsoft)? If so that is part of the problem. It is infamous for being the target of popup. There was a time when I was getting 50-100 popups an hour.

First thing is to switch to another browser. Try using Firefox (Mozilla). I have been using them for a while now and I get NO popups. Second thing: a lot of sites you may visit will send you adware or spyware. There is a great website that can help with this. Do a Google search on Security Tango. They give a step by step method of removing spyware and adware from your computer. They recommend a couple of good programs (freeware/shareware) that work well.
Of course, you need to have a good virus protection program on your computer.

Good luck...

#1 Chat-Avenue Wrongly accused

AUTHOR: Sid - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 25, 2005

This Rip-Off report was documented with out any proof what so ever, i have been registered with Chat avenue for allmost 2 years and have just became a chat moderator.

i have been all over that site on 3 diffrent computers with me, xp, and 98 windows with out a firewall, virus sheild, and a spam blocker. I have found nothing at all that relates to spy wear or A virus after i scaned these 3 computers...

I was so confident in my results i had my grandfather go to the site and register and look around and then run his virus scan and spy-wear scanner and found nothing...

as for the Thousands of pop-ups i only had a very small amount in the last hour...

I highly recomend Chat Avenue to every one of all ages (my 78 year old grandfather is hooked) it is very user friendly and has a great online enviroment so please dont let false allegations turn you away from this great site.

What a heap of nonsense.

AUTHOR: Craig - (Australia)

POSTED: Monday, April 25, 2005

Firstly, i commend this site for what they do, it's good to have rip off's uncovered and go public. BUT it's not a good when a report like this one is posted as it is entirely false, and obviously so.

The photo's?.. Well the actual names of the owner, the chatmaster, and such are not public knowledge so why their photographs would be is just stupid. An shows the authenticity of these claims. This whole thing is not only unfair on Chat-Avenue but also those people who's photo's those really are.

I have been going to Chat-Avenue for years now, as either a user or a moderator, and i have never EVER picked up anything malicious. If this person has picked something up it has not been from Chat-Avenue and they should be a lil more catious about what sites they goto. But consider the fact that everything else they have said is a complete lie, then i doubt they really picked up anything.

Advertising, well i know very little about how much the advertising costs, so on and so forth. But i do know that i have seen advertisements sitting their for a very long time, and always linking to other peoples sites, not Chat-Avenue like it was stupidly claimed. I have personally witnessed the amount of traffic Chat-Avenue receives, and i don't believe $500 is asking too much.

Pop Ups are not harmful to computers, they can be somewhat an annoyance, but they are all over the net and are a way of sites staying afloat.. Although Chat-Avenue gives everyone a free service, it is not free to them, so Add's are needed in 1 way or another.. But never in any malicious way what so ever..

Chat-Avenue gives a free service to tens of thousands of people, Chat-Avenue has always been free to use, and i believe it always will be.
As it has been said in a previous rebuttal, check it out for youself, you will not find 1 hint of the outrageous claims that this sad creature has put forth..

#1 Chat-Avenue for a reason!!

AUTHOR: Kim - (Australia)

POSTED: Monday, April 25, 2005

I have been an active member of Chat-Avenue for nearly 4 years. I have never received spyware from the site, never have I seen anyone have to pay to use the site. Chat-Avenue is free to the users. Those who use our site for advertising get very good and continuous publicity. Currently our forums have over 13,500 members. If Chat-avenue was guilty of these things that they are being accused of it certainly wouldn't have anywhere near the amount of registered users as it has.

I have been a moderator at Chat-avenue for approximately 3 years. I am now a chatroom administrator.

My advice to those who read this report is to not make assumptions about a site they have never been to. There will always be people who will try and slander something because of spite, jealousy or a grudge.

I am proud to be a part of Chat-avenue, and will remain to be a part of what I consider to be the best chat site around.

#1 Chat Avenuetrue or false allegations

AUTHOR: Erin - (Australia)

POSTED: Monday, April 25, 2005

After reading the article concerning #1 Chat Avenue, I'm somewhat concerned that it was posted without even being researched as to true or false allegations. I have been a user of the site for over four years, a moderator in some of the rooms for approxomately three years, in that time I, or any other person has never been asked to give money to the site in return for employment or use.The site is free to users world wide, care is taken in the monitoring of users, the staff on the whole are approachable and very caring. There are no viruses attatched to the site, I believe if there were the number of users to the site would decrease, not increase. There are many users who are disgruntled with the site for purely personal reasons, be it the fact they were refused employment, or just the fact that they want to bring a good site down. I would tell readers of this report to consider carefuly the facts given, and the manner they were presented, please access the site and look at it for yourselves before judging the content of the original report, and lastly, I believe all reports should be researched before they are placed here for public review. Thank you for your time.
