I was notified in a letter today from an attorney Sheps that I have a $6oo debt for a $25 check. The only information given in the letter is who the check was written to. No date, no amount of check.
After checking my bank account I see a $25 dollar check that they presented twice in a day and collected 64.00 in fees for. Of course this unauthorized withdraw places further hard ship on me. I don't understsand how they can legally do this. If they can present their fee and it clears why can't they present the 25.oo check and it clear. Banks and credit companies seem to be in cohoots here or this could not happen. How can they get 2 32.00 fees in the same day. Then they send an attorney to collect 600 as a settlement???
