On January 16, 2008 I received a telemarketing call from Pearl Wills who is an employee of Cherryone telling me how good their company is in helping local businesses to promote their websites to the top of natural listings in all of the major search engines. She was very pushy on the phone asking me all the time how would I like to pay for the services they will do for my company. When I asked her some technical questions about it she would not know the answer and told me that one of her programmers will call me.
Next came the call from Richard Adamik who is also an employee of Cherryone and supposed to be a manager and more technical oriented with the process of Search Engine Optimization to answer any of my questions. Richard emailed me a proposal on 01/21/08.
After few more heavy sales inflicted phone calls and another email on 01/23/08 from Cherryone saying that "We never forget to make YOU money!"(Should be "We never forget to TAKE YOUR MONEY!!") I received another phone call from their "Top manager" Mike on January 25, 2008 who was very convincing in pressuring me to sign up with them at a cost of $2,000 as initial fee for website optimization and $200 monthly maintenance. He told me that my first payment would be $2,200 because they will charge the first month right away. I said ok and he faxed me a contract to sign with my credit card information and I faxed it back to him.
On the same day at 6.36pm I received another email saying: Hi Boris, Just a quick note letting you knows we're engaged in the SEO process. One of our SEO team members will be in touch to go over your target
keywords. Please send us your FTP username and password so we can implement our work into your website. If you have any questions please email seo@cherryone.com
RegardsNo name of the programmer or any information who I will be working with. With common sense I did not reply to this email.
I called Mike on Monday 01/28/08 at 10.31am asking him if I should reply and what about going over my keywords to implement them on my website. He told me that he is going to the tech.department right now and one of the programmers will call me back right away.
After waiting for about 3 hours without talking to anyone from Cherryone I replied to the above email at 1.16pm hoping maybe someone will get back to me through email system. Waiting for 4 days sitting patiently by the phone and computer I called Mike on 01/31/08 at 1.54pm, but he was not available. I called back at 4.12pm with the same result "voice mail". I left him a message that if I do not hear from anyone I will call my bank to dispute the charge of $2,200.
In one hour I called the company and after 2 attempts someone answered the phone and told me that Mike is not available and will be back on Monday. I told the lady who answered the phone and never asked me who I was that I will call him back on Monday. On Saturday 02/01/08 I was checking my credit card statement online and almost had a heart attack. There was a pending charge from Cherryone for $400.I thought it was supposed to be $200 monthly as per Cherryone agreement that I signed and on top of it I already paid for the first month even that nothing was done for one week (which is $50 wasted down the drain).
I called my bank right away to stop the charge. They transferred me to a dispute department. They said that you can not stop a charge once it was initiated but you can dispute. At the same time I did some search on Google about Cherryone and found this wonderful site which lists numerous complaints about them with the same problem (charging customers and not doing the work, overcharging, etc.) There are also 41 complaints on Chicago BBB site during the last 36 month.
P.S. On Sunday 02/03/08 I logged in into my account at cherryoneweb.com and printed out the invoices for my charges.
The first invoice was for $2,200.00 created on 01/25/08 as was agreed, provided they do the job and do not disappear after taking my money.
Second invoice was for $200.00 created on 01/26/08 with due date 02/01/08 and I thought I already paid for February on 01/25/08 or was it for 6 days of January???
The best one is the Third Invoice created on the same day 01/26/08 with due date 03/01/08!! YES NO MISSPRINT HERE MARCH 01, 2008!! and they charge me on 02/01/08 for March. Once again I thought it was supposed to be $200.00 monthly maintenance charge and not twice a month.
What can I tell to anyone here? I like Cherryone's newsletter. On the bottom of it they have a nice slogan in bold that reads:
"We never forget to make YOU money".
In my opinion they should change it to
"We never forget to TAKE YOUR MONEY!!" That's more appropriate to their practice of doing business.

Cherryone is not a reputable company. I worked their briefly and they are nothing but a credit card scam. When I worked there, they also hosted a website that was funneling money to Muslim terrorist groups.

This Boris from Wax Spa in North Miami, Florida is nothing but a cheap whiner. Cherryone is a reputable business and has served over 300 clients. Our mission is to remove negative reports posted by others against our clients like Wax Spa. Of course we were delayed. Wax Spa has tons of complaints that it takes time to remove these minute reportings and boost up his site. Mr. Boris you need to be patient when ordering services otherwise your negative reviews by others will keep popping up. We have delivered everything required and yet you still engage on reporting our name.

ON MAY 06, 2008 I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL AT 8.33PM FROM A GENTLEMAN IN CHICAGO ASKING ME ABOUT CHERRYONE AND MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM.
HE TOLD ME THAT HE IS CONSIDERING TO SIGN UP WITH THEM FOR SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION.I START TELLING HIM HOW HORRIBLE IT WAS AND THAT THEY NEVER GOT A SHINY DIME OUT OF ME.TO MY SURPRISE HE ASKED ME WHY I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THEM.IN PLAIN ENGLISH I TOLD THEM TO READ MY REPORT AND UPDATE TO IT.WHAT CAME NEXT WAS NOT EXPECTED AND I ALMOST FALL OUT OF MY CHAIR.HIS WORDS WERE " I THOUGHT EVERYTHING IS OK NOW AND YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THEM". I ALMOST ASKED HIM WHAT WAS HE DRINKING RIGHT NOW.WHEN I ASKED HIM WHERE DID HE GET THIS CRAZY IDEA HE TOLD ME THAT I WROTE AN UPDATE ON THIS SITE DATED 04/21/08.I WENT ONLINE WHILE TALKING TO HIM AND WAS SHOCKED BEYOND BELIEVE. Important Update concerning Cherryone.com. I am unable to actually delete all the things I have written here on ripoffreport.com, this is bothersome as I have resolved my issues with Cherryone. No one seems to know how to delete something off this site once it has been resolved.
Mike and George were very patient and understanding and I realize now that I have a better understanding of how the process works I really jumped the gun on my initial reportswhoops. I often get worked up and I really was unfair on how I went and wrote negative things, especially since this company now has done so much for me. I really want to say Thank you Thank you Thank you Cherryone and your team for your understanding and still willing to help me.
I have outstanding results and I have seen a rapid increase in my business, many of my new clients are letting me know they are finding me on the search engines like Google and Yahoo and I can say that Cherry One is the company that brought me the new clients and the all the new areas that I am being found under when you put in search words.
This is great!! Thank you for resolving this with me and explaining all this to me.

On February 04, 2008 at 3.51pm I received a call from Don at Cherryone in Chicago phone number 312-238-8618 who is supposed to be a technician working on optimization for my website. He start telling me that he was assigned to work on my job ( a week to late ), but he can not get on the back of my website. I told him what happened before and asked him to relate a message to Mike to call me. Also I told him that on Friday 02/01/08 I changed password at my hosting company and at the same time I called my bank to dispute the charges.
At that time someone by the name of George ( I assume it is George Lamberis COO ) who is mentioned in other reports took the phone and start asking me what is going on. I told him what happened and asked him why would they charge me $200 for January when I signed up on January 25, 2008 to begin with and they did not even called me as promised until today.
My second question was why did they charge me another $400 on January 26, 2008.His reply was that they charge for the whole month irrelevant on what day you sign up (meaning that if you sign the contract the last day of the month they will charge you for this month) regardless if they did anything for you or not.
In regards to $400 he said that $200 was the charge for February and the other $200 for March which was never explained to me by Pearl Wills or Richard Adamik or Mike the Closer. As a matter of the fact Mike told me when he was pressuring me to sign up that $2,000 is initial fee and $200 is for February (being the first month) and he never mentioned that they charge one month in advance. When I told George that I am not interested in his company anymore after what happened and after reading all the reports about them here and Chicago BBB he started threaten me by saying that I signed a valid contract and they have lawyers who will go after me and my company. I replied that I also have a lawyer who already has all the information regarding this transaction.
His final words were and I quote "YOU WILL SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN SOMEONE WILL SEARCH WAX SPA ON THE INTERNET. WE WILL PUT FIRE WITH FIRE"
Sounds like a direct threat doesn't it?? Thank you, George. Now I have something to go with this case further than disputing the charges.
I hope you will read this George and I know you will (because you already read my original report), I spent 10 hours of the day in front of the computer online and if something happens to my website or anything similar you will need more than fire to stop me.

P.S. I guess they start calling and pretending they want to do anything after you call your bank.
