Chevron Oil Stop ripoff Signature Plug turned oil change into a damaged oil pan Fair Oaks California

I took my vehicle to Chevron Oil Stop for a regular oil change. It was my first time going to the place and found it convenient that I could stay in the car while getting the oil change. However, while the procedures were being performed, the attendant came to my window, asked me if I would like to have their signature plug installed in the oil pan to allow convenient oil changes for the future when I bring my car back. I OK'd it because I felt that I would be back and I understood that it would not damage my car. The oil change was over in a matter of minutes and I was on my way.

I never found an immediate problem but when I had the oil changed at a different oil service company after 3,000 miles, I was told by the service guy that the plug was cross-threaded which actually damages the oil pan. He warned me that cross-threading a plug damages the oil pan. At this time, I was unaware of the damage.

Yet another 3,000 miles later, I get another oil change at yet another oil service station (not Oil-Stop) and I was again told about the cross-threaded plug, told me that it damaged the oil pan under my car and that they could only put a temporary plug in for me. I was advised to have the service station who was liable for the installation of the plug, pay to have the unit fixed at their expense.

I have contacted the Oil-Stop at Fair Oaks, am waiting for a response but nonetheless, whether the plug was defective or the service guys did not know their job well, they chose to hide the fact that damaged was caused during the oil change. Do NOT take your car to Oil-Stop.
