This company is totally bootleg.  I will accept responsibility for the fact that my car note was 15 days past due and if it is their policy to repo cars after 15 days that is prerogative but they never tell you that when you buy the car.  Ive always made my payments and I have never let my account hit 30 days past due to avoid negative credit bureau reporting (if they are even reporting it).  My problem with them to start, is that they never called me to let me know I was set up for a repo,  when I called the police they had no idea it had been taken which caused me to file a false police report and have to take the day off from work. When I called Chicago Lenders to tell them the car was stolen they told me they had taken it.  When I offered to pay for it that day they told me I had to wait a week because they were booked with people coming to get there cars back not to mention the girl told me she didnt even know where the company was so I still had to wait a week.  I asked why they dont know where the car is and I was told the 3rd party tow company has 24 hours to notify them. This is on a Friday and they are closed on weekends so when did they expect to find out?  This company is totally incompatant and I wouldnt recommend them to my worse enemy.  After seeing complaints going back to 2008, Its a total embarracement.  Beware, they take advantage of people with credit issues because they know we dont have many options.  I would sooner take a stage coach before dealing with this company again.  I am taking the liberty of printing out all of these complaints and sending copies of them to the Better Business Burea and the media in hopes that others can be warned.

Hello, my car was repoed by Chicago Lenders today. I've noticed similar experiences. Can anyone please tell me if they can reinstate/return the vehicle to you if you pay the past due amount. Or what are the options they provide to you in the event of a repo by them??

Thanks.

A Little Education, Shall We?

The car is "security" for the money they loaned you.  In other words, they first want your money, but if you don't make your payments on time, everytime,  they will pick up the car.  That is the same for any car loan no matter who its with.  They lender is under no obligation to tell you anything about when the car is going to be picked up.  Why?  Because too many loosers would destroy, damage or attempt to hide the car.  The fact you know you are late is enough warning you need.  Late means the payment is/was not made on or before the due date.  15 days is late as is 31 days and one day.  ANYTIME you are late, you are looking down the barrel of repossession.

Much of this is contained in the contract you signed, if you even read it.

There is nothing "bootleg" about any of this.  That's exactly how the world of credit and finance operates.  The lender agrees to lend you the money to purchase the product and in return you agree to make every payment on time and everytime.  The lender is under ZERO obligation to make "allowances" or special arrangements with you.  All they are interested in is their money because that is what you agreed to take from them with your promise to pay back every cent on time, everytime.

You can forget about the so-called "Better" Business Bureau.  The BBB is NOT a government agency and their main con-game is to snow you with little bits of information while running a phoney accreditation scheme whereby anybody can buy an "accreditation" just like buying a phoney college degree.  The BBB does not and will not care about you or your problems.  The BBB is an industrial strength SCAM!
