As with the others I've seen, I checked this place out and agreed to the $1 charge. When the service turned out to be completely bogus (*additional* charges needed for reports), I cancelled right away. There's a $22.86 charge from them on my CC now. I WILL be contacting an attorney, of course.
As much as I hate scam artists like this, the fact that MY bank lets them just take my money bothers me even more. A bank should be safeguarding money entrusted to it - not just giving it to any scam artist who want it. I don't even know how it's legal for the bank to do that.
That will have to be a conversation with the attorney too.
