This church was founded in 1979 by a sick, twisted pervert who abused men and young boys. His name was Lloyd R. Davis. He was sentenced to 31 years in a federal prison for abusing a 12-year-old boy. He was denied parole. He died in prison in 1999.
His church is still in operation, and it is an abusive church. Go to this website to find out more:
www.abusivechurches.com
This website also has available the transcripts for Davis's trial, and they can be read online.
They have congregations in Waukegan, Illinois; Norfolk, Virginia; San Diego, California; and Orlando, Florida. If anyone approaches you and invites you to come out to CFCMI or Christian Fellowship in one of these cities, RUN AWAY!

THANX YOU FOR REMINDING ME WHY I DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN ORGANIZED "RELIGION"
AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

IT IS A FORM OF MIND CONTROL AND A WAY TO SHAKE YOU DOWN FOR MONEY. THEY DON'T GIVE A d**n ABUT YOU --JUST YOUR MONEY.
THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOME MORE OF THAT CHARISMATIC GARBAGE THAT NEARLY GOT MY COUSIN KILLED.
NO WONDER THEY HATE WOMEN SO MUCH SINCE MOST OF THEM APPEAR TO BE GAY.
SHE HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME SINCE SHE ESCAPED ONE OF THEIR "DELIVERANCE SESSION" WHERE THEY BEAT THE HELL OUT OF YOU -- BUT ONLY WOMEN, IT SEEMS. SHE THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO SET HER ON FIRE AND BURN HER AS A WITCH! IMAGINE THAT!
THE REASON THEY LIKE SEAFOOD OR SAILORS AS IT IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED BY GAY MEN I KNOW AS THE GAYEST MILITARY SERVICE. I DON'T KNOW PERSONALLY, I AM JUST REPEATING WHAT NUMEROUS GAY GUYS TOLD ME. I DON'T JUDGE LIFESTYLE CHOICES, I AM JUST REPORTING.
IT IS A CON, A SCAM, A RACKET.
PAUL, THE RENEGADE RABBI, ALIAS SAUL WHO STARTED THE PAGAN/JEWISH CULT OF CHRISTIANITY WAS GAY AND HE MADE SURE THAT HIS CHURCH WOULD ALWAYS BE A PLACE OF REFUGE AND SAFETY FOR GAYS WHO WERE CONDEMNED TO DEATH UNDER OLD JEWISH LAW.
SO THAT THERE ARE GAYS IN THERE DOES NOT SURPRISE ME.
I WONDER WHY THEY JOIN A RELIGION WHICH OPENLY CONDEMNS THEM BUT WHO SAID CHARISMATIC RELIGION HAS TO BE LOGICAL OR EVEN FAIR.
I KNOW A LOT OF GAY PEOPLE AND HAVE WORKED FOR THE LEGALIZATION OF GAY MARRIAGE AND I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST THEM WHATSOEVER.
I DO HAVE SOMETHING AGAINST MIND CONTROLLING , MANIPULATIVE, DOMINATING, SICK, SICK CHURCHES AND THE CRAZIES WHO ATTEND THEM -- GAY OR STRAIGHT, MALE OR FEMALE, ANY RACE, COLOR, DISABILITY AND ETHNICITY!
SO I DO NOT GIVE MY MONEY OR MY TIME TO THESE LYING, THIEVING, RIP OFF SCUMBAGS!
RELIGION IS NOTHING MORE THAN IGNORANT SUPERSTITION.
SPIRITUALITY IS A DIFFERENT STORY BUT THEN YOU WON'T FIND THAT IN THE EXCLUSIVE, VICIOUS, ARROGANT PRIVATE SOCIAL CLUBS THAT MOST ORGANIZED RELIGIONS HAVE BECOME THESE DAYS!

Regarding CFCMI
AUTHOR: Giovanni - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, November 04, 2008
Hi Mary,
My name is Giovanni.
I used to go to CFC in San diego and let me tell you I couldn't agree with you more. I was under the Lunatic DPL. He was abusive controlling and psychoitc. I just found out that he was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Now even though he is a cult leader I still pray that he gets healed and comes to know the real Jesus and gets really saved. Not only was this church founded by a pedophile but they also worship the pastors.Did you know that in th month of august they celebrate and worship LR Davis as founders day. They misused tithing money and used it for their own benefeit. DPL actually told the people in his congregation to turn in all their paychecks to the church treasurer so he can know exactly how much everybody made and he can tell them how much to tithe.Anywhoo, some of the pastors that were also involved with Lloyd R Davis sceams are still pastoring today. A guy named Bruce Wilson is a homosexual that hasn't came out of his closet. His name was all over the court statements as being one of the pedephials. Pastor Paine became the general pastor over the ministry after L.R Davis death. When his church starting going dwnhill he put Wilson as the head pastor just so he can blame him for everything that was going on. I don't know if you know this or not but if you don't this will make you happy..... Both San Diego and Waukegan's churches were shut down. They all moved to Norfolk,Va. Bruce Wilson and Daniel P Lantis were stripped of their pastoral duties before they moved to Norfolk. All due to the blame game of course. Actually I think Wilson is still in Waukegan. But DPL is in Va. Please pray for healing and his salvation. And now norfolk is serving as the head quarters. They still have a church in Florida and Sri Lanka and Haiti. So God is slowly destroying that church. All he has to do is destroy norfolk's church and that organization is done. By the way the ones in San Diego and Waukegan are small fellowhsip groups now. Not churches. From what I understand now is that pastor thomas is trying to overthrow paine to become the general pastor. What a bunch of goons.

Just FACTS and TRUE observation from within.
AUTHOR: Oif Vet. / X-sniper - (U.S.A.)

Fact 1: i was a church member who lived with the First Christian Fellowship Ministries at the Norfolk branch from 1993- 1998. i observed everything that took place daily at the church and outside the church. (members homes, lifestyles,ect.ect.)
Fact 2: i have visited some of the other branches of CFCMI. more specifically san diego, wageagan,IL. , fort lauderdale, and a few military ministries overseas.
Fact 3: i have visited the founding Bishop when he was in prison.
Fact 5: My personal experience while living with CFCMI showed NO abuse whatsoever that i could see. i witnessed 0 abuses or brain washing. i witnessed NO assaults( verbal or physical). there were NO sexual crimes witnessed from me. and i was never held there against my will. the door was always there if i wished to walk out. i saw Absolutely NO corruption while i was there.
opinion 1: Was there corruption there even though i did not see corruption?? This is inconclusive at this point. (i am still investigating). without solid proof i cannot Accuse them at this point. many members who have left CFCMI that i personally knew have claimed that they were abused in one way or another. but i did not see any of them being abused as they claim. just because i did not witness abuse taking place does not mean that there was not abuse taking place.
Fact 6: While i was there at CFCMI i gained a great knowledge of the bible and the meaning of scriptures. i was very happy while i was there. I learned many good morals and had many good friends of all walks of life. the CFCMI church did alot of charitable things for the community. donating blood, helping the poor, putting food in the food banks ect.
final: i have been away from CFCMI for almost 10 years. at this time i do not know the status of the church or what goes on in it. either way i am still going to follow Jesus christ(not man). and there is one thing that is for sure, someone is lying about CFCMI. if the pastors are lying then they will have to answer to God. but if those who fell away are lying then they will have to answer. No matter how you look at it we all are going to answer to God.

Cult or not, this is one scary church
AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, July 13, 2007
I had college roommate who was a Naval ROTC student. He was recruited into this church his freshman year and remained active for at least 10 years later. He actively recruited fellow midshipmen into this church. When I knew him he was a senior and held important leadership roles in NROTC. I questioned if he was using his power as a senior midshipman to recruit so many into the church.
He ran frequent Bible studies in the NROTC building and in the dorm room we shared. He seemed to spend quite a bit of his time "following up" with recent converts.
I remember one night he was essentially spying on two to make sure they weren't drinking. I happened to be with him and saw that's what he was doing.
I was raised in a secular household, but knew enough about Christianity to question some of his beliefs. For instance he insisted only members of his church would go to Heaven. Everyone who died before this church was founded was in Hell. Once his church had sent 144,000 souls to Heaven, Jesus would return, restore life to the 144,000, kill off everyone left on Earth, and install a 1,000 year reign.
After we both graduated, I visited him in Virginia shortly after Lloyd Davis went to prison. The congregation was made up almost entirely of Navy individuals and families. My friend ate all three meals at the church as did at least 150 others every meal. My friend admitted he spent as much if not more time at the church than he did anywhere else including work or home (he had a shore assignment and worked 8 to 5). Various people in the congregation told me that they had sent "Brother Lloyd" to prison to cover up all the problems they had in Lake County, Illinois. No one could elaborate about just what problems they had there in Lake County, but rest assured, that was the only reason "Brother Lloyd" was in prison.
I was visiting not only after their founder was sentenced, but it wasn't too long after the events at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco. They had bumper stickers, signs, posters, etc. with comments like "Is your religion BATF approved?" or "Vengeance for Waco".
I attended their New Year's Eve service. It started around 7 PM. People spoke in tongues, fell the floor, etc. Some would run up on stage and announce they were prepared to use their sub's nuclear arsenal if God commanded it. They took an offering and I couldn't believe the amount of cash they collected and how many zeros were on some of the checks. My friend said he tithed at least 1/3 of his income, probably more.
The pastor of their Virginia church told me he owned an airplane and had a place in either Central America or the Caribbean (I forget which) that he flew to a lot. Something just didn't seem right about that.
I was going to drive home the next day, so I left at 12:30 AM. The 7 PM service was still going on. I went back to his house which he shared with about 8 or so fellow sailors. They woke me up a little after 3 AM insisting I pray with them. They literally would not take no for answer. I explained I was asleep and had a long drive ahead of me, but I soon realized they would keep me up all night if they had to. No one was going to sleep until we had prayed.
I realize no one thing I have said is all that bad. I couldn't believe the levels of indoctrination and control this church used. You were expected to eat your meals with them and spend any free time you had at the church, which much of the congregation seemed to do. I overheard my friend speaking about "follow ups" and determining who was on which ship. They even parroted the "party line" about why Davis was in prison when they obviously didn't know what they were talking about (i.e. the "problems" in Lake County, IL).

No doubt about it - CFCMI is a cult!

I have posted a couple of separate topics about the practices of Christian Fellowship Church Ministries International, and my hope is that they will be read in conjunction with the posts made here.
The leadership has made a series a of very bad decisions which have damaged many people in many ways. Do not accept an invitiation to their church without getting all the facts first.

A 'cult' CFCMI is, by any standard.
AUTHOR: Trace - (U.S.A.)

I was never a member of CFCMI, which permits me the luxury of an unimpassioned perspective. I have, however, encountered the ex-wife of one of the CFCMIs senior officers, and communicate with her daily. Despite years of indoctrination--by all the classic mind-control tactics employed by CFCMI, The Unification Church, Krishna and all other cults--she has emancipated herself and regained her life. How many of us, if thrown into similar circumstances, could say with perfect confidence--as opposed to air-filled bravado--that we would have the strength and courage to do the same?
Defining, or identifying a "cult" is a very inexact science. Many churches sit on the borderline. The details my friend has told me, however, places CFCMI firmly, unquestionably in the "cult" camp. There are details so astonishing that she would not like me to disclose them, and for her sake, I won't. She fears retribution from this "church." Suffice it to say they involve illegalities.
The argument between Rich and Nicole is irrelavant, and a waste of energy. Nicole believes there's a god, Rich does not. Neither can prove their belief, nor disprove that of their antagonist. Having said that, I ask only this of the reader: whatever your stance on the nature of god, take care whose opinion you sign onto. Use your gray matter. That stuff is god-given, afterall, and for a reason.

Very sad post, Rich. My heart goes out to you! God is very much real! Is there anything you believe it? Is your life empty of beliefs?
It is a shame that the original poster has been scammed by a cult, God will deal with them one day.
Rich, you and I will have to disagree, which we definately do! I wish the best for you in your future.

Dont yank on the spine of God
AUTHOR: Rich - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, October 23, 2003
Your first mistake was believing in GOD. God is merely a fictional character, created by the minds of MORTAL MAN. Thats right. The BIBLE itself was written by mere mortals, no more powerfull or knowledgible than you. They were however good storytellers. Its all fiction! Every shred of religious B.S. you have ever heard. Regardless of the CHURCH's intent, it is all B.S. Nothing more. I feel sorry for anyone who gives money to any organization, and then gets nothing in return. Nothing but more lies. They all make you feel that if you give money, you will go to heaven. If you SIN you will go to hell. Give me a break!!
RELIGION IS THE OLDEST SCAM ON EARTH!!!!
It is there to control people.
If you blindly follow everything these people say, then you are being BRAINWASHED!! And likely being taken advantage of in one way or another!!!
My suggestion to you guys is,
"BELIEVE IN YOURSELF"
Cause thats all that matters. Nobody is gonna do anything for you. You have to do it yourself.
In the words if the immortal anti-religious band "MONSTER MAGNET" the greatest ATHIESTS ever.
"Dont yank on the spine of God, Ya get what ya give. Ya know what I mean?"

I was with a bible study group in Mayport FL on the naval station. We would report to Pator Paine on on the phone in Waukegan. They never let you have any privacy because a "brother" would alway follow a member around. They seem to target Navy members because that's what they would go on base to recruit. They would go door to door in barricks and hang out at the front door of the main store on base. They took over the USO so sailors cannot enjoy the place without religious harassment. The leader of the group seems caring at first like rest of the core members. We would spend at least 8 hours doing bible study and other functions. Every hour and day was scheduled for you. We would send in over 10% of gross pay each pay day and an "offering". Also they have a branch in FT Lauderdale, FL. I met CFCMI members little before a year after my mother passed on. If it was any other time in my life, I would not put up with their way of doing things. I left the group around Dec 1999 or early Jan 2000. The church was like a distant nightmare until I came across this report. They only care about money. I would be reading a verse, then the leader would yell out of the clear blue at me. I decided to stop going to the study groups. They dont listen to reason and try to pressure to go. When one of them knocked on my door I looked through the peep hole, I said go away. Then they would kick the door and jiggle the handle. Even one of the people in Waukegan called me on my cell phone and said I don't have to go to the group study, just send money to Waukegan. I would have to look around the corner or over my back to see if they were in the area. It has been 3 years of freedom and I can do what I want with my free time. I was told Satan would destroy me if I left "the flock". They say they are the only faithful church. To think of it I have not been to church in three years. I understand the pastors and upper level leaders live in luxury while most members are in poverty.
