NOTE: I would have written this report sooner but I did not know of it until today. This horse has been dangerous under saddle from the second day we had her home.(the first day we rode her at home)

We called this James Commander on an ad and video of a red dun registered quarter horse mare. He said she was "dead broke" and had been being ridden by his 4 year old son. Said she was a cutting mare that did not have enough ability to make it in competition, yet she had cow sense and was a super quiet riding horse. His reason for selling the mare was because he was moving and would not have  enough space for her at his new home. He said his father raised running quarter horses and he trains them. Also said he is a firefighter in Shreveport, LA.

We are seasoned horse owners, owned, shown, rode, raised  horses for over 40 years. This mare was not very expensive so we were not so concerned with where she was as far as finished in any discipline  but we did speak extensively with James about her being safe and sane, no crazy stuff about her. He assured us she was just as we witnessed on her riding, real quiet and suitable even for a child as young as his 4 year old son who supposedly had been riding her mostly.

What we explained to him is we wanted to add another easy going mare to our riding stock that less experienced riders could ride when they came to visit. James assured us she would fit that use really well.

She was fine the day we decided to buy her, quiet and calm. (looking back, probably drugged) but first day we rode her after being home, she blew up as my husband mounted her and took to bucking like a seasoned bronc. We thought possibly we just had not been warmed up properly in her new environment. We were trying to give her (and James) the benefit  of the doubt. After we got her together from her bucking session, we went ahead and rode her. She was willing but spooky to anything that moved behind her girth. Shy about mounting and dismounting.

We then took to her as if she was a green broke horse that had some sacking out issues. We have spend lots of quiet quality time with this mare sacking her out and getting to know her. She has issues with setting back when she is tied. She is unpredictable every time you saddle her.  Some  days she takes to work alright and is willing. Other times you may warm her up good, have a few good minutes of riding and then she "check's out" takes to rearing and bucking, basically looses her mind. In no way is she dead broke or a inexperienced riders mount, from day one.

We have never been able to get back in contact with James Commander to ask him more questions about this horse. He sold her to us and now avoids us.

I would not ever trust James Commander in any situation.
