I am presently an owner of a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 83,000 miles on it. I am presently having trouble with the passenger side front window regulator. This particular problem is quite prevalent in many of the Jeep products with automatic windows. If you were to look up Consumers Affairs.com you would see what I mean. They want between $350-450 to replace the regular. The problem is, the whole regulator needs to be replaced, not just the piece that broke. The window mechanism is cable driven, but the part that the cable is attached to is plastic. Any excessive force, such as the cable binding up would force the plastic part to break. I have had only a problem with one window, but many other folks have had the same window regulator break several times, even after being repaired. What will it take to have a company like Chrysler to do a fix-it. I believe this complaint is legit. I would like to hear from any other Jeep owners who have had this problem.

Window Regulator

AUTHOR: Tj - (U.S.A.)

Yes i feel ur issue. I have an 04 and my passanger side window regulator went out and not less then 500 miles later the driverside went out too. Dont take it to a dealership they will charge u an outrages price and use the same defected parts. I went to napa and purchased the two regulators for 215 total. It took me all of 45 minutes to replace them. Its really easy to do and all you need is a screw driver and a socket wrench. I am by no means an expert and usually dont attempted to fix things on my own. I did with the windows and it was a breeze.
