I just do not know where to start. My husband and I Bought a vehicle from Van Horn 8 months ago. First off, the price of the Chrysler Town and Country Was supposed to be $15,995, They changed to Wisconsin's buyer guide to 21,999. My husband signed the paperwork without reading..(our mistake). We have had nothing but problems with it since we got it. It has less then 26,000 miles on it, and the transmission is going. Van Horn does NOT have their business together, when we bought the Van, They had us sign a wavier for a Dodge Grand Caravan, We never even LOOKED at a Caravan...???

When we tried to trade it in for a more safer vehicle we could'nt because there is so much negitive equity...We paid $23,000 for junk thats not worth $8,200 trade-in.
Please When looking for a new vehicle do not consider this business, they have horrible customer service when you have a problem, and they are liars.

Add'l information? Research done? Contract not read?

AUTHOR: T. Farnsworthy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 21, 2009

I don't even know where to begin with this. It sounds like you didn't research the vehicle you were interested in, and didn't know its actual value. I assume you didn't do a carfax scan on its VIN to check if there were any warning signs (accidents, multiple owners, etc.) You then signed a vehicle contract without reading it? That's not a reasonable explanation, even the shadiest dealerships show you the contract for your signature. At no point did you say to yourself, "Hey this van will cost $22k, not $16k"? Were you drunk or high or something?

Nobody is at fault here except you. You made a totally uneducated and disorganized purchase of a very expensive item. It's not like you popped into Walmart for a new electric shaver and didn't read the box. Caveat emptor, i.e. buyer beware. It was your responsibility as a consumer to ensure your purchase was a good one, instead you didn't. Now it's the dealership's fault?? That's pure stupidity.

Frame Damage/Lemon/Flood Damage

AUTHOR: Jj - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 18, 2009

I work at a competative dealer about 20 miles way from Van Horn. Van Horn Specializes in Lemon vehicles which could have had a major problem, have been flood, frame or salvage vehicles. I get customers coming in all the time saying "well I found the same exact vehicle at Van Horn for $2,000 less" 95% of the time it is a vehicle like this. I run a carfax and they find out that Van Horns vehicle is cheaper for a huge reason. Remember you get what you pay for! It's always cheaper for a reason. Some people just don't understand what that type of vehicle is until they buy it. You will ask "where did this vehicle come from?" There response "Oh it had an issue when it was new, it was fixed under warranty and then sold again." That doesn't sound so good does it? DO YOUR RESEARCH. Buy from an honest dealer!
