I am just returning from my bank after having to cancel my debit card. Here's why.

In these difficult economic times it's important to know where your credit score stands. I recently went to freecreditreport.com to check mine. A day or so later I was doing some online banking and noticed a charge to my account for $14.95 from a company I had no clue about doing business with (CIC Triple Advantage). Ok, $14.95...no big deal right? Well, if it were revolving monthly (for ever) it would be a big problem. Getting in touch with this company is virtually impossible and when you do reach them you are greeted by an obstinate and useless offshore call center. So I did some digging and discovered a pretty shocking story. CIC Triple advantage is currently in a multi-million dollar class action suit and all the while their acts of fraud continue since before 2005!...it was only a $12 charge back then.....must be pretty profitable huh?

Freecreditreport.com is currently saturating the airwaves with massive amounts of advertising $$ and luring potential millions into this scam. All with our stolen money..hello FTC???? AG???? Anyone home?

Please inform the public about this outrage. You will be helping hundreds of thousands of people who can not afford to be ripped off right now, especially by a seemingly reputable company. All the proof you need is online. Simply Google CIC Triple Advantage cohort of (freecreditreport.com) and you will have the whole story and more.

Two other problems I noticed as a result of being ripped off by these people. That have disturbed even more than the actual theft.

1.) My bank (Bank of America) knows all about these people. The customer service rep actually said "oh yeah...I've heard of these guys...this is terrible". Terrible that this company is not only ripping people off but costing these financial institution potential millions of dollars in customer support hours trying to right the wrongs of these thieves....investigating and re-investigating all of these fraud complaints. Our financial institutions can't afford this kind of crap right now.

2.) The media is no where to be found when it comes to this story. Why? Is it because freecreditreport.com is dumping millions into advertisement on most major media outlets? Here's an interesting exercise I would like anyone who cares about this to try. Google CIC Triple Advantage and you will get thousands of complaints and they start with the very first result. Then click on the Google news button to see where this same topic is mentioned in the media. Guess what? ZERO results?? WHY??

If you are in the media and have any integrity you should expose these criminals and feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Ok, I get that.  The site says its going to charge $14.95 for the service within 48 hours.  It happened immediately without notice.  In addition, I wasnt charged $14.95...I was charged twice.  Once for $1.00 and the second was for $29.00.

So, when I called to cancel it, I was only offered HALF of the money back.  What happened to "Risk Free?"  I lost half my money!  In addition, the website is worded in ways that most of America just wont understand.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period**, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership.

ConsumerInfo.com, Inc. and Freecreditreport.com are not affiliated with the annual free credit report program. Under a new Federal law, you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies. To request your free annual report under that law, you must go to www.annualcreditreport.com.

Yes they also do state that you are enrolling in Triple Advantage on the TV comercials also. Oh and the FTC is involved.
Did they sue them - No
Did they tell them to stop - No
So what did they do - They created their own spoof videos to counter them at

http://www.ftc.gov/freereports

Now, just FYI you are entitled to a free report, but a credit score will always cost you money no matter where you get it from.
