I am a prepaid, "go phone" customer with Cingular. I got switched when they bought out AT &T.

I have NEVER had a problem with Cingular until August of 2006.

Since then, I have had so many dropped calls, the people at the other end are getting upset. My calls always seem to drop at 1 minute 48- to 1 minute 53 seconds.

I have spent much time on the phone to Cingular customer service.. received 3 or 4 $5 credits for my "inconvienience" and the situation still hasn't been fixed.

First, it was a software glitch that only affected the prepaid users. Well, it affected me, but never my husband, who's on the same plan. This lasted over a month. Many times I was told by both customer care and a tech support person that it would be fixed by "Friday". Well, a bunch of Fridays have come and gone, and my phone is still dropping calls.

Tech support then suggested that they send an upgrade to the phone programming, which didn't do anything, either.

Then it was a case of 100 cell towers needed to be fixed because they were down. This was about 2 weeks ago.

Now here comes the beginning of December. My dad's in the hospital and I'm on the phone with my husband, who proceeds to tell me that dad is passing away.. and the call gets dropped. Not just once, but 4 times.

I take my phone into the Cingular store.. and they tell me that I need a new SIM card, which they give and install for free. I made ONE call that worked ok, and then it was back to the dropped calls again.

Last Thursday, Dec 7, I spent over 30 minutes on the phone with customer care AGAIN... and got the same story over again.. the cell towers are down, yadda yadda.. Yet if it's the cell towers, why didn't this affect my husband's phone (which is also prepaid), or all the friends I have that have Cingular's regular service, who weren't dropping any calls???

I have tried to be patient, and I can't get any satisfaction from Cingular at all.. They can't seem to fix my phone, and can't seem to give me a straight answer as to why it keeps dropping calls.

Either fix the system or my phone, but get it working again. I'm sick of paying for service that I'm not getting.
