Today 1/22/07 I discovered that my checking account at Schools Federal Credit Union was charged twice in the amount of $146.36

the first charge was made on 1/18/07 and the second was made today 1/22/07.

I contacted cingular and they deny having charged my account, on the other hand my bank tells me that Cingular is the one who authorized the charges.

When I contacted Cingular the costumer "professional" goes through the script and does not offer help, in fact tells me to contact my bank.

Finally, and only after speaking with a Supervisor I'm told to fax my bank statement and they will investigate the matter, which may take 7 to 10 days in lenght.

Meanwhile I'm short of cash in my account.

Frankly, I had nothing but problems since Cingular took over, in the past I would pay my bill on the internet and they denied receiving it. Then billed me with late charges.

This is all besides the fact that we are being bounced from one company to the other like cargo.

You must file an EFT dispute with your bank. Say those magic words and force the bank to do the work for you!

AUTHOR: E - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 02, 2007

I was overcharged while using an automated phone payment system. I called my bank and asked to file an EFT dispute on the charges after getting nowhere with the wireless company (this time it was T-Mobile). The bank (BofA) was wonderful! BofA found in my favor, reversed the charge and the overdraft charges, while T-mobile tacked on a late charge for reversing the charge for the wrong amount.

I eventually paid off T-Mobile but went down to the lowest rate plan and cancelled my contract when it ran out. To this day, T-Mobile never would admit or acknowledge that the phone payment system was a little screwy. Watch out and don't use those automated phone payment systems!
