Maybe someone here can point me in the right direction. I've been with AT&T/Cingular for almost 10 years. I have a good rate plan because of my job. (The people at the store at Lakeside Mall in Shelby Township, MI are fantastic).
I upgraded my phones (4) alomst a year ago. My wife's phone died a few months after we got it. It was under warranty throug Motorola. I called and they sent a replacement. I was told the return slip, for the old phone, would be sent within two weeks. I never received it. I started calling after two weeks. Both to Cingular and Motorola. No one could find a record of the new phone being a replacement. They show me having 5 phones for 4 numbers and I can't get anyone to help resolve this. I still have the old phone and the package the replacement came in. I went back and forth between the two every month for at least 6 months before I gave up. I was charged $99 for the replacement phone. I paid it because I wasn't getting anywhere with either customer service.
Has anyone had a similar problem and how did you resolve it?
I appreciate any help.

In April of 2005 I migrated from AT&T wirless to Cingular. My phones were shipped Fedex, and the tracking says that they were left at my front door. Well, when I got home, I found no package. Called Cingular and they advised me to contact FedEx to file a claim. Well, when I called FedEx they told me the claim would need to be filed by Cingular. I called Cingular back and told them what FedEx told me. The agent told me they would take care of it.
Cingular sent me new phones (same models that were lost) Well, never heard anything else about it until a few months ago I got a notice from a collection agency (Cingular never contacted me regarding it before sending to collection). I called Cingular and they told me it was for the lost phones. I explained what I had gone through. The agents transferred me around a couple of times. I finally got an agent who kept me on the phone for an hour. He said he would take care of it have it removed from collection and that would be it. I haven't heard anything else about it until I just tried to add another line to my plan. I'm a manager in a call center for a major airline. I have to say that Cingulars customer service agents provide alwful service. It seems that no one knows what they are doing, they just want to transfer you somewhere else (but this is a whole new topic).
I asked for a supervisor regarding this matter when I tried to open the new line. She said she will check and see what she can do. She at least gave me a number with her extension to check up on the matter. I guess this time I will have stay on top of it and make sure it gets taken care of! Sorry, no help to your situation, but wanted to let you know you're not the only one have problems like this. GOOD LUCK!
