On July 5, 2017 I had a trip and fall incident at Hilton Homewood Suites in Ocala, which, among other injuries, chipped a few of my teeth. The following day i went to the hospital emergency room, and was told that all of my injuries, except my teeth would resolve themselves. My dentist gave me a written estimate of procedures required to repair and restore my teeth. The estimate was $6,307.00. I submitted this estimate to Cinncinatti Insurance, and was offered half that ammount as "i was equally responsible for the accident".

I refused that because the accident happened because of a stone hearth that was sticking way out of the fireplace, which caught my leg, above my ankle as i was walking past the designated path by the fireplace.

i suffered a brain-stem stroke a few years ago that resulted in intensive physical therapy because I had to relearn to walk. While my gait is good when i'm refreshed, when I'm tired or have been sitting for a while, my walking is often not perfect. I have no problem proving this to the insurance company. This is why I'm insulted by the claim that I'm partly responsible for the accident. A planter or objrct at the side of the fireplace would have prevented this accident.

i was later contacted by Cinncinatti Insurance and offered $5000.00 minus $372 that they were paying to a physicians group at the hospital emergency room. My insurance covered that bill!

I recently retired as a teacher, and am on a limited income. I will turn 71 in two days! My wife and i are on a much deserved vacation. We were in New Orleans on Nov. 20, at  Hilton Hotel, then in San Francisco. We are currently in Hawaii, spending time with our daughter and her family. We did not budget for this accident, nor do I feel responsible for it. We have contacted Hilton Corporation and they have washed their hands of this, claiming it is an insurance issue. I don't really care whether this is Hilton's responsibility or the insurance companies, I just want hem to accept responsibility, correct the problem at the hotel, and pay to have my teeth repaIred! This will only get more expensive as time goes on, and i will not stop being their conscience until they do the right thing. As I am no longer in Florida, and unsure when we will return, getting my teeth repaired elsewhere may be more expensive. Please help me with this issue.
