CIT LENDING, LEASING & TREASURY MANAGEMENT SERVICES DECEPTIVE END OF LEASE - UNAUTHORIZED EXTENSION OF LEASE Jacksonville Florida

Office copier machine was leased through CIT for a period of 63 months.  The last invoice indicated that we needed to contact CIT in writing to let them know that we would not be renewing the lease or doing a buy-out (as of 7/27/17). I was instructed to do this by DEX Imaging as well.  After a few days, I received a response from CIT that said that I had not contacted soon enough (she told me that I should have contacted them in April) and that another 3 months had been added to the lease and that I would have to make arrangements at my own expense to have the machine returned.  Typically, one would expect to be contacted regarding the end of the lease and options, but there only contact I had was through DEX, not CIT.  Not even a notice. Nothing.  Its as though they want you to not pay attention so you are stuck for another 3 months.

What I have learned is this:

1. Never enter into a lease for a copier, especially with CIT (there are a number of complaints.)

2. CIT's business practices are deceptive on purpose.

3. Lease is written to screw the consumer.  

4. Company could care less.

5. CIT will sue.

6. No customer service at all.

7. Buy the copier out-right.  There are so many good copiers that a far less expensive that this beast.

I will be reporting CIT to the FL Dept. of State and to the FL Attorney's General's office.
