My complaint is with Sears Credit Services Through Citibank. They telemarketed me trying to sell life insurance. I told them know on several occasions but received a bill. They had went ahead and charged my sears card.
I called them and they removed the charges from my card but this appears on my credit report as delinquent or late charges. A payment can't be delinquent or late if you didn't owe that payment in the first place.
They admitted their wrong doing when they removed the charge from my credit card. They will not remove charges from credit report. They told me sorry for any mix up but they were not removing anything from my credit report. Eventhough they agreed that the charge wasn't owed they said it took them passed the due date to clear it and therefore was late. By the way my card has a 0 balance and has had that balance for some time. I have filed disputes with credit bureaus and the respond back refusing to remove from credit report.

Hmmmm...CitiBank you say...

They are not doing too well. Which could (conjecture of course) explain how or why this "mistake" happened. As far as why they won't help get the negative mark off your credit report is subject to debate as well..but being as you mentioned the balance is 0 and has been for some time..they are not making any money from you...and trust me..they need it. Seems these days if we do all the right things and pay our balances down..they still find a way to hurt us...a sure sign of desperateness.
For example...this is an excerpt from NY Daily News....dated today: Nov,6 2009
Citigroup was formed in 1998 when Citicorp, a commercial bank, combined with Sanford I. Weills Travelers Group Inc., which owned the investment firm Salomon Smith Barney Holdings Inc. The New York-based company lost $27.7 billion in 2008 and took $118 billion in writedowns. Now 34 percent-owned by the Treasury Department, Citigroup sought help in the wake of a credit freeze that claimed three of Wall Streets biggest firms and led to the deepest recession in 70 years.
The Treasury Dept is a large stockholder..maybe you should write them as well.
Best of luck.
