Citibank - Kendall E. Stork Citimiles Policy Changes-Adds $39.00 transaction fee and increases minimum miles to 2500 Sioux Falls South Dakota

I received a letter from Mr Kendall E. Stork on March 20th 2009. This letter was dated March 1st 2009. It stated that as of March 31st the following changes will take place.

-A transaction fee of $39.00 will be appliedto all tickets redeemed using Citimiles.(at 1-800-99MILES). This feeapplies to each ticketissued for both cardmember and companion tickets.

-The minimum number of miles for travel rewards will increase to 2500 Citimiles for each roundtrip ticket. Trips with less than 2500 miles between departure and destination will use the minimum of 2500 Citimiles.

This policy change is more than an inconvenience. It is a financial burden that Citimiles is passing on. I have been accumulating these air miles for several years while paying a $25.00 anual fee to enjoy such a benefit. My investment has been basically been eliminated by Citimiles. I have been saving these Citimiles in hopes that someday, I would be able to afford to take my family on a vacation. With these added cost and policies my plans to cash in my air miles for a vacation will have to be put on hold. By the time that I am able to recover from this policy change, who knows what new policies may be applied? This business practice is actully just like putting the carrot in front of the donkey to keep on stringing him along.( Keeping me paying $25.00 a year fee and than changing policy so I can never redeem my air miles)

By the way , I called the customer service # that they gave me and neither the rep that answered the call or their manager was even aware or new nothing about this policy change.

Has anybody else had this experience with Citimiles? This is a big ripoff and dissapointment.
