Citifinancial Mortgage Company lost or misapplied my March 2008 payment. After numerous phone calls and explaining and re-explaining my situation to lousy customer service reps, most of whom do not speak English, I finally got a supervisor named Dave who had me fax him copies of my cleared checks, front and back and he assured me it would be taken care of by the following week. Meanwhile I was receiving nasty collection phone calls every night and having to re-explain the situation to more foreigners and I received late letters threatening me with foreclosure and loan acceleration. The week passed and nothing was resolved. I finally found another supervisor, Brigitte, who had me fax all my documentation to her and she assured me that she would get this information to the proper department and my problem would be resolved. More time passed and NOTHING was done. I kept receiving the nasty phone calls, some as late as 9 pm, as well as the threatening letters. Dozens of phone calls later, I finally got another customer service rep that was willing to "help" and gave me a contact name and direct fax line to the research department. I just needed to fax in my documentation to that number and they would take care of this. Two more weeks go by and STILL no resolution. Not only am I completely frustrated and pissed off, but my credit report now has a negative comment on it and I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG! I made the payment, I can prove I made the payment, I can prove that Citifinancial endorsed and cashed the check and yet they refuse to credit my account for the payment amount while they look for the misapplication on their time. They continue to harass me with phone calls and nasty collection letters. Since this is probably a fraud scam perpetrated by Citifinancial, I have no other option left to me other than hiring a lawyer to get this straightened out, which will probably cost more than just giving in and making a double payment. You have to wonder if there really is a foreclosure crisis in this country or if it is just Citifinancial trying to screw people out of their homes and money.
