My father has given me authorization to handle this account since he cannot speak fluent English.

First let me say I am very, very disappointed in the way Citi Mortgage has handled my fathers account. My father has paid on time for the last several years and he has even paid more than his designated amount as he was trying to reduce his principal balance.

He then lost his job after 30 years employment and has been financially challenged due to his present situation. He always worked hard and paid for what he wanted and this has taken a great toll on him at this time. He is very distraught!

I originally started this modification request for my father since june/09,  I inquired if whether or not both" mortgages, the first and the second with CitiMortgage could be considered for a loan modification. The rep told me that this could not be done, only to find out later, "both" mortgages should have been considered at the same time so the ratio would be around 45%, not the traditional 31%.

My father paid the "trial" payments  as agreed and while he was making the agreed upon trial payment on the first mortgage, around December/09 I followup thru the online Citimortgage home page that the modification had been approved and that my father should receive his modification papers in 5 bussiness days, 15 days go by, so I call Citimortgage to inquire on the modification.  A rep assures me that the loan modification was declined even though it clearly stated in the home page under my fathers loan account info " 12/24/09 Your mortgage assistance request has been approved.  Expect you mortgage solution package within the next 5 business days."  Now I am no Einsten, however I do speak and understand English and that to me sounds like: IT IS APPROVED!!!! So, I since the Citimortgage rep is kind enought to clairfy to me that it has been declined.  I ask this young lady what other options their are for my father.  She advises me that the only option is to speak to collections and to pay the total past due amount due.  estimated payment of: 3,200.00 a month.

Well!!,  about a week later I receive again another letter from Citimortgage advising me to not allow me to loose the opportunity to modify my loan thru MHA (making home affordible program).  I call them once again.  Another rep went thru the numbers with me and he realizez that CitiMortgage has entered my fathers home loan principal balance incorrectly into their system that caused my fathers modification to be declined.  The rep then asks me why we didnt at least accept their in-house forebearance plan.  I said WHAT forebearance plan?  My father was never offered such a plan.  He assures me this will be resolved nd fixed in a timely manner to simply refax my fathers paystubs since the last time they received pay stubs has been more than 3 months. I fax them the very next day later, to my great surprise 2 DAYS later I receive a letter stating Cititmortgage has had the audacity to "charge" off the "second" mortgage even after I was told, they would "wait" until a decision was made on the first mortgage!  and Sold my fathers home.

I also understand this is not the first time a second mortgage has been charged off an account while the customer was told to wait on the outcome of his first mortgage. It appears this is a continuous habit or practice that CitiMortgage does and feels they can get away with because borrowers do not take the time to write a letter such as this.

It appears to my father and me that Citimortgage wants to gain possession of the property for their own personal financial gain.

I now know this type of action is not legal and I intend to contact any and all media personnel that will listen to my dilemma. nationwide.

My father has worked hard to keep this property and for CitiMortgage to blatantly lie and mislead us is beyond question and the worse thing that you could have done!!!

I am requesting an immediate response and will be contacting and providing this letter to all entities involved with the regards to this program to let them know how we have been treated which is totally unfair.
