Extremely disturbing, unlawful experience with Citizens Bank Brank at Harvard Square.

Wanted to withdraw 160 USD from my credit card account (not Citizens bank based, European money insitute) - ATM gives out only 80 USD but the full amount got charged to my credit card.

Immediately contacted the staff there - they first showed desinterest, then told me, as I had no account with citizens bank, it was my problem and they would not be able to give me the money back.

When I told them I want to talk to the manager, they complimented me out of the bank. They neither took my contact information, nor my European bank information, nor did they want to give me a name of the officials so my bank could contact them.

I have to say this is criminal, I work hard for my money, but this bank is the worst experience that I made internationally ever. criminal and extremely bad education of the staff.

Never again!

Issue solved

AUTHOR: Citizen bank ATM client - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 23, 2013

After additional calls with Citizens bank officials at this branch, the issue was clarified, the process of getting the money back was finally fully explained to me (customer).

Also the rebuttal comment on this website was solving the steps towards getting the money back.

However, the initial customer service was clearly not professional, just after the complaints, the problem was fully addressed by the staff.

You'll have to contact your credit card company and file a dispute. They will contact the bank and confirm that only $80 USD were given out and will be able to correct your account. This works the same way if you use a debit card from one bank in another bank's ATM. The customer has to contact the card owner to initiate the correction. Hope this helps.
