Hello,

About 2 years ago, I bought a computer system. HAving bad credit, I had to jump at what I could get. What I could get was a Pentium 2 system that was maybe worth about $1300 at the time.

To begin with, the comany I bouthgt this system from (Citizen's Computer Company) charged me about $3200 for this system. That sounds like price-gouging to me. Part of the incentive to buying this system is that when I paid it off, I would get
$300 worth of upgrades to bring it to the competitive level that it had been when purchased. I called the financing company (It was financed by an outside company.), and inquired about any penalties for paying off early, there were none.

I then called the computer company themselves, and asked about penalties for paying off early, specifically asking about
my upgrade. I was informed that I would not be penalized by paying off early, and I would still get my $300 upgrade. In August, I paid this system off, and promptly sent the company an email asking to get the ball rolling on my upgrade. It is now 2 1/2 months later, and they just told me that I don't get an upgrade since I paid off early, but they would "go ahead and give me a $150 gift certificate" to a local electronics store.
It's been another 2 weeks, and when I called today to check on the gift certificate, I was told they were in the mail, that they had been mailed out to "all the people that were waiting for their upgrades".

When trying to reach the company in the first place, I reached Craftmatic(As in the adjustable bed), and when I expressed confusion, the girl on the other end told me the guy who would know the # just walked in the room. She then gave me a phone number to the computer place. I think this is a company
that was supposed to provide people with rebates on their systems that were already marked up about 250%, and then is trying to reneg on the deal. I'm not sure about you, but I wouldn't have bought a computer from a bed store if I'd known!!
