City Global Financial Trust - M&T Bank I received a letter from City Global Financial along with a check for $4875.00 claiming i had won $125000.00 and turned out to be a scam! Toronto Ontario

I received a letter from City Global Financial along with a check for $4875.00 claiming i had won $125000.00 and turned out to be a scam! This letter claimed i was declared a winner of DE-Lotto North American Sweepstakes Lottery. Along with the letter came a check in the amount of $4875.00 asking to cash right away.
When i called i was told to cash the check and call back with Instructions on how to pay government taxes in the amount of $2875.00 which had to be certified funds. Once those taxes were paid they would send me a cashiers check for the remaining $120000.00.
Luckily, i went online to verify this company even existed and sure enough it turned out to be a big scam! If i would have paid those "taxes" i would have been out that money because thier $4875.00 check would have been returned! This happened On July 23rd 2008.
