I received a violation for speeding in a school zone (so-called school zone is a community center next to a highway on ramp). It was in my husband's name as he is listed as owner on vehicle. I couldn't dispute it in the first 30 days because he doesn't have vacation time to use to sit in a court room, and he wasn't driving. They won't talk to me on the phone as he is listed on the violation, but they weren't able to provide any information to him anyhow. They said they were only to assist with collection. I called 3 different departments in Akron trying to get it resolved, with no response. There is no local number listed to call. How do we get a violation from Akron, that is processed in Arizona, that nobody can talk to us about? I finally paid my $100 so that I didn't go to collections, and now they are charging me a late fee of $25, again nobody to contact about it.

So you stated that you received a violation for speeding in a school zone. Did you actually receive a violation first from a police officer stating that you were in fact speeding in a school zone? If not, I feel that you paid money for a scam becuase besides a red-light camera nailing you for running a red-light; how would anybody else but a police officer know that you were in fact speeding? Also, the fact that it was in your husbands name although you stated that you were driving is another red flag. I've gotten tickets while driving my moms car and the tickets were always in my name and not hers. Finally, and please don't take this the wrong way. There very well be a school that you are unaware of in the area. On the street where I live, there are 3 different school zones used primarially for students to cross the street; the school is roughly 1/2 a mile away. So that could maybe be it.
