Near West Hyattville Metro there is a laundry house that is running as a basecamp for new migrants to the area. Those that can afford it stay there. Others are camping along the NW branch of Anacostia river. I used to think it was homeless people till one day I saw about 6-7 swarthy latinos heading right into their camp in the bushes.

They camp there almost openly and litter all along the Rachel Carson Greenway. It's disgusting. I am pretty sure W.H. government knows what's going on. It's become kind of an entry point and along Hamilton avenue. The impression you get is they know what's going on, all the little businesses mostly run by latinos.

They know it, and that's why they are deliberately unfriendly to visitors and people who are wanting to shop or eat there. The megalavanderia has a very good business but since the upper story add on was built they made a point of chasing me away. I used to do some laundry there, but they now pretend that it is all just commercial laundry.

Really it's to protect their second story customers. And the computer business is a front too. I wouldn't mind but once it becomes a transit hub all these latinos are arriving and when they cannot find work some of them act very deranged and angry. They will go into a McDonalds, in groups of about six, and take up tables and yell and act up. "We are american, we have freedom, we can do what we want" they say in broken english. Generally they go into businesses run by other latinos who feel too ashamed or sorry for them to kick them out. 

This being that this beautiful little creek and parkway is becoming so obviously a camping zone, why not rename it into something a bit more appropriate? What about El Chapo Way? Or Pablo Escobar Park? That might make everyone feel so much better, except the deer of course! And I am not against immigration per se. A lot of nice little businesses around Takoma Park Crossing!
