The truth about the Omak Police Chief having an extramarital affair needs to be known.

For several months Omak Police Chief Larry Schreckengast had an affair with one of his reserve officers' wife. When the reserve officer caught wind of the chiefs indiscretions, he confronted Cheif Schreckengast. The chief of course denied the affair, but stated he would stop contacting the officers wife.

When the reserve officer found out that the Chief had lied to him again, and had no intention of breaking off his relationship, he took the matter to Mayor Dale Sparber. Well Mayor Sparber, being friends with the Police Chief, has seen fit to sweep the whole thing under the rug.

The emoldened Chief Schreckengast then fired the reserve officer from the department. The reserve officer has filed a law suit for damages, and has no illusions that his wife is not also to blame. In fact she has come clean about the affair.

Meanwhile the rest of the Omak Police Department must work for Cheif Schreckengast under department policies that thier own Chief does not have to follow. They also must suffer under a city government that will not due the moral and right thing and fire their low life Police Chief.

Here is the real rub. Not only did Schreckengast use the cities computer and e-mail account to carry on his affair, he also stayed in hotels during his trists on the cities dime using the guise of "Training." As if the citezens of the city had not paid for enough, now they will likely have to pay a large cash settlement to the officer for not taking action against Cheif Schreckengast
