CJ Brossett advertised a 50' 2 car race trailer for sale. I flew from NJ to La on 3/3/2010 to see the trailer and negociated a sale price. CJ required a deposit of $5,000.00 to hold the trailer and accepted a business check w/ the VIN# and contract terms detailed on the check as a bill of sale. The trailer was not to be used and scheduled to be picked up on 3/26/2010.
After flying to Florida to P/U the truck and beginning the drive to La., CJ responded to my numerous phone calls and claimed that the trailer was in an accident. I would not be able to PU the trailer. He would return my deposit promptly.
He has not returned deposit money, does not return phone calls.
After doing some aditional homework on this guy he has been accused of LOTS OF SCAMS INCLUDING SELLING THE SAME CAR TO 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE! Look at the posts about him on the VIPER FORUM. He deals in high end cars, choppers, boats, and diving.

Cj brossett had my best friend killed. He literally smashed a car into a pole then put my friend in the car and set it on fire. No one saw him for 3 weeks after that. The police never investigated it. Justice needs to be served. I have personally seen him and 2 other guys come into a local bar and beat a guy to death with a margarita machine. They literally took the body, car, and left. It was one of the most horrible things i have ever seen. How is he still running around free???

I met cj is the fall of 06 when he came to Arizona. My brother and I got involved in a real estate project with him. We knew already he was a grey area guy, but he moved fast and never had any excuses. He seemed like a get it done guy. We all did well with the project. A few months later we decided we could handle it without his grey areas. We approached him with a buyout offer and he calmly said no. He told us this was his project and and if someone was going it was going to be us. We declined and hired a attorney to deal with it.
A few weeks later my brother was abducted from his home in Mesa,az and was found in Mexico beaten and stashed in a zeta cartel controlled prison. I got a call from him begging to let it go and take the money. I went to cj's house and he seemed upset at what had happened. He said he had absolutely no involvement and wished he could help. He said it with that smug look he always had when someone did something that was not in his best Interest. My brother was eventually returned during a raid 7 months later.
My brother can no longer walk without a wheelchair and has trouble speaking due to severe head trauma. Why I can't directly prove his involvement in the matter. Given his family history in the mob it does raise to question. Not to mention the dozens of other complaints about him. Why he never ripped us off. He certainly doesn't need to be out having people abducted and thrown in Mexican prisons because they want a change. I do believe he has some involvement with cartel and American mob activity. We contacted the Local FBI office as well as local police about the matter. Nothing ever materialized from it.

********************I met CJ like i meet many sellers through Ebay. i (very stupidly) trusted his word and his business and transferred the funds for a car car he was building for me. i transferred the funds in installments.
Once received the full $85,000 James refused to send the car to me.**********************
James refused to send you a car? Do you not know who you sent money too? On the net making false statements. Andreas you sent me "cj brossett" 25k. You did not send a penny more. You did not get anywhere near what you owe me. I offered for you to pick up the 25k of car that you paid for. You are 60k short for the entire car. Pay up. They dont put people in jail because you cant pay your bill.

Once received the full $85,000 James refused to send the car to me. He came up with excuse after excuse as to why he could but at no point offered to send the money back to me. Now he thinks this has been forgotten and he is home clear. As in the middle east its very difficult for me to pursue it but a case is now with the FBI and all proof has been submitted.
There is 100% nothing CJ can say to get out of this like the ways he is trying to deny his other accusations on this
website. CJ if you are reading this i hope you are happy and hope you like jail food. the end is close for you my friend.

I did not read too much into the guy making this complaint. For starters it's 5k. I bought 3 rare ferraris from him as well as a gt40 and several marine parts. CJ is top notch. I've done transactions with him exceeding a million dollars. He always does what he says. So I doubt he was going to "rip you off over 5k".

Final Settlement

Shortly after posting the original report I heard from CJ. He said that my report was hurting his business and he would not return my deposit until I removed the report. I told Him I would update it WHEN I received my deposit back. THIS IS THAT UPDATE.
Some research led me to several people who said I should speak to his father. I contacted Mr. David Brossett who agreed to find out what was happening and call me back. He called back the following day to ask if I would agree to 3 monthly payments. I didnt want to wait but decided this was the easiest way to settle.
True to his word, I received the final payment from Mr. David Brossett toward the end of August. I am thankful for his assistance (and Lynn at the Brossett Corp.) in resolving this without a messy and expensive legal battle. They were very plesant and professional to deal with.

I was in shock when I saw this post. I've had several dealings with CJ and all of them positive. I've purchased some items from him and also done some shipping for him. There must be more to this story or some odd circumstances. Either way I hope it gets sorted out. I wouldn't hesitate dealing with him again because of my prior transactions with him. Just my 2cents!

We agreed on a price long before you got here. You were supposed to fly in and pay for the trailer in full. Instead you only showed up with 5k. You asked me to hold onto the trailer for a month so you could get the rest of the money together. At no time did i ever agree the trailer would not be used. You gave me money to HOLD it for you and not sell it to someone else. When the trailer was invloved in a accident you asked me to wait and see how the insurance cards played out. I got a letter from the attorney general saying you were a victim of "auto fraud" I responded. Honestly why you even posted this is beyond me. I cant put gas in a boat with 5k...so why i would scam you out of it blows my mind. Yes i will sell the same car to 80 diffrent people. Untill one shows up or flashes some cash. Its for sale. Im not a charity, a walmart, or a pawn shop. We dont do layaway programs. I dont deal in high end cars. I am not a car dealer. I sell them out of my collection. They are all MY personal cars and boats. We build bikes, We are diving and salvage contractors.
