I had stayed at the Clarion Hotel in Indianapolis IN on January 5, 2006 and had left to catch a train at 4AM January 6. My husband and youngest son (who live in Indiana) went back to the motel to catch a couple hours of sleep before heading home.

The problem began on Feb. 14, 2006 when I found out that they had charged me for a "nop-show" reservation on Feb. 13, 2006. I contacted the motels reservation specialist who told me that I had made a reservation on Jan. 6 for the night of Feb. 13. I told her that I did not since I lived in Oregon. She then told me that my husband (who is not on my account) must have made the reservation. (I called him and he told me that he had made no reservation. I knew that he had called the motel about prices on Feb. 11th because he had asked me what the price was when we had stayed there last time. He told me that he had told the motel that he was not interested and would look for a cheaper motel since he thought it was too expensive.)

I called the front desk of the motel and found out that the reservation specialist had lied to me because the front desk clerk told me that it had been made on Feb. 11. I then called Clarion International customer service and explained what had happened. I was told that "upper management" would contact me in 5-10 business days. I only got a letter dated from the day I called that said I was to contact the motel in question and nothing more could be done for me.

When I had spoken to the reservation specialist she had actually laughed at me and told me "good luck on getting your money back". I tried to explain that no reservation had been made and especially not by me since I live 2500 miles away and no one else was on my account, therefore it was an unauthorized transaction. She hung up on me.

I called the manager for the motel and after 3 calls she called me and told me she would look into it and call me in 3 or 4 days. I have not heard from her and that was 2 weeks ago. I have left repeated messages on her voice mail but have had no response. I again called customer service to find out what to do and was basically told that there was nothing anyone could do and found out that when I had made the report about the first woman lying to me, they had put in their computer that I had claimed my husband made the reservation on Jan. 6.
Anyway to make a long story short, I was hung up on again with no one to help me.
