On 22 May 12 I purchased a registered POA Gelding known as Hez Completely Macho.

I was assured by Shannon Clark of Clark Performance Horses on that day that his papers and change of ownership would be submitted immediately.

Thus far I have not received any paperwork and have confirmed with the Pony of the Americas Club Inc. that they are still not in receipt of any transfer of ownership and/or registration papers for this horse and he is still registered to Shannon Clark.

On 22 Jun 12 I mailed Shannon Clark a letter requesting the change be submitted and provided a check for the processing fee, a signed transfer of ownership and self-addressed stamped envelope to Pony of the Americas and have not received any response back from her.

Response to Ms. Clark

AUTHOR: Debbie - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 25, 2014

This is rather interesting….a response from Ms. Clark via the internet 2+ years later after I graciously claimed the case was closed and I had no further issue with your business.  A wise person would’ve kept it at that.  If you continued to harbor ill feelings than perhaps a phone call or meeting was in order to discuss it all.  I’ve tried to remain cordial with you since the ordeal and never once did you indicate any need to discuss it.  If this is your attempt at doing damage- control than I would recommend you first seek out a mentor knowledgeable in the area of farm management and equestrian breeding/training.  Next,  enroll yourself in some sort of community relations class so you know how to deal with clients/customers.  Most importantly, quit changing the name of your  barn and instead adopt sound business practices and use integrity.  Lying about past clients will not bring in new business.  If you want to continue to argue over the internet….have it your way.  I’ve got a rebuttal all ready for you.

Response to Mrs.Barron

AUTHOR: MrsClark - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 24, 2014

In response to Mrs.Barrons accusations, I would like to start from the beginning of this year long ordeal. In Jan of 2012 she brought her daughter to me for lessons so they could try out a young POA gelding I had for sale and make sure he was a good fit. They seemed truly interested in the gelding and having positive past experiences with Mrs.Barron I withheld the gelding on trial through the end of February so the young lady could attend a horse show with him to ensure he was well behaved at shows and away from home as her current pony was not. In March of 2012 after holding the horse off the market for more then 30 days I presented Mrs.Barron with the opportunity to place a deposit on the gelding and pay him off within 30 days or purchase him on payments if need be. Mrs.Barron replied with "We have to sell our other pony first" ok, understandable. At this time the horse went back on the market. At a horse show later that month I was approched with a cash offer on the pony, I gave Mrs.Barron a courtesy call to match the offer. She replied that she couldn't as they hadn't sold their other pony and to go ahead and accept the offer. THIS IS WHERE THE MESS BEGAN.

Once I got off the call with Mrs. Barron I accepted the cash offer and the pony was sold. NOT MORE THEN 15 MINUTES LATER I get a call from Mrs. Barron "Wait wait don't sell him!" to which I replied, "I'm sorry it's a done deal I was standing with the buyer while on the phone with you and have already accepted their offer." The new buyer was also a client in my barn and gave Mrs. Barrons daughter the OK to continue to take lessons on the pony and to show the pony until they were able to find another suitable pony. So while searching for another suitable pony we brought a POA to the barn on a 30 day trial from Arizona, terms were discussed verbally (which as I see now was a mistake on my part) that the potential buyer was responsible for his transport should he not work out. Within a week we decided he was too much horse for the young lady, so I had several people come and try the gelding in hopes to find a buyer and save Mrs.Barron the transportation cost. Meanwhile little did I know that Mrs. Barron had manipulated the buyer of the origional pony in question not only into parting with her newly purchased pony but for $1000 less then she paid me for him!!! Meanwhile the sellers found a buyer back east and needed the pony shipped home to AZ. When approached about paying the shipping cost for the pony to be returned to Arizona Mrs. Barron got very uptight, rude and diffensive stating it was not her responsibility etc. After having a meeting with the young lady who had paid me cash for the origional pony and discussing the current situation, she withheld the horses papers until Mrs. Barron agreed to reimburse me for the cost of the Arizona Ponies return to arizona. Eventually, after months of my respectful insistance that Mrs. Barron reimburse me the money owed and her insistantly rude bantering back and forth and slandering my name, we settled the reimbursement issue between ourselves and the papers were released to her.
