Clark & Washington, Law Firm Dishonest Misrepresentation Misconduct; Unprofessional Atlanta Georgia

I retained the Law Firm of Clark & Washington to represent me and my husband in a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filing. This was done in the beginning of October. My husband and I had a lawsuit that was filed against us and we advised Clark & Washington during our appointment that this was going on. Due to loss of employment we are in the same situation as most are that the recession has brought us to. During this time, we were told by Clark & Washington that our case will be filed by the end of October and not to worry about anything because they will handle it and the lawsuit will be stopped because of the filing. We did not hear anything for a month from the law firm. We contacted the law firm in November to find out the status and was told by customer service that the case was sitting on the attorneys desk and that they were unsure as to why the case was not filed. We received a call from an associate of Clark & Washington in November and was told that everything looked good for our case to be filed. He also staed not to worry about the lawsuit that they will take care of it. It is now December, and I recently called Clark & Washington again to find out the status since we did not hear from them again for one month, to advise them that we found out a Judgment was issued against us for the lawsuit and to find out why the case was not filed yet. I left a voicemail on an attorneys voice mail and no calls back for two weeks. When I called again, I was told that there was some issues with our case and they can not file on our behalf. This was now over two months of trying to get information from them. No answers were given, no explanations, just that they could not file it and were returning our money. We trusted this firm to file our Chapter 7; we gave them plenty of time to file before we were in default with the court for the lawsuit; we contacted them to find out if they needed anything else and why we were not getting a case number; no replys; no calls to us; nothing.....All we got two months later was that they could not file a case and they were refunding the money; after a judgment was now issued. This is irresponsible and just plain wrong. No consideration as to how they leave people because it is not their issues. For regular working individuals who trust attorneys to handle their problems and to hope that things will be resolved; we are now finding ourselves faced with getting sued. No communications whatsoever and no explanation as to what the issues were. In my opinion there were no issues; they dropped the ball somewhere and were now covering it by returning the money. Never use this Law Firm. Just because it is a sweat shop and they have cheap rates; you get what you pay for. Go to real lawyers to dont give the practice a bad name.
