The people across the street from me hired Clear Choice Restoration of Roseville (Minneapolis / St. Paul) Minnesota to replace their roof a couple months ago.  Two days later, my house and that of another neighbor, were broken into.  I lost thousands in jewelry, guns, and electronics in the burglary.  My neighbor lost significant amounts of personal items as well. The police asked if there had been any unusual people in the area and I mentioned that a couple of the Clear Choice Restoration roofers were seen wandering around the neighborhood during their breaks. After an ensuing investigation, the police executed a search warrant on the apartments of some of Clear Choice Restoration's roofers and guess what...they found some of my stolen property!  But it gets even better...the two perps are also illegal aliens!

As for Clear Choice Restoration's customer across the street, let's just say that she is absolutely livid over the sloppy work they did.  The first rain shower leaked into her house, causing a large section of her ceiling drywall to fall out.  She is trying to get Clear Choice Restoration to honor its warranty, but the company and its owner, Steve Olson, insist that "acts of nature" are not covered. Aren't roofs supposed to protect homeowners from these "acts of nature"? My neighbor is now considering litigation against this dishonest roofer.

As for Clear Choice Restoration itself, they are in some serious trouble with immigration authorities for not checking the alien status of its employees.

This is a seriously crooked contractor.  Stay away...you've been warned.

I got a call from a client of mine that saw the inaccurate, negative comments that have been writen on Ripoff Report.com so I went back on to see what "Mr. Anonymous" wrote this time.  It just does not make sense to me why someone would waste what they call their "valuable time" writing on this site and trying to hurt my company's online image.  I have invited "Mr. Anonymous" to call my cell phone or to contact the Minnesota Better Business Bureau so we can have a conversation with an independent party to set the record straight but there has been no communication other than this site.  I thought who ever wrote these lies and spent their "valuable time" would have called or emailed me by now and gave me information such as their name,  the property address they are claiming we did work on, and some contact information such as a phone number or email address where they could be reached, but still nothing other than more negaitive words on this site. 

Mr. Anonymous, I am not sure what made you think my requests for you to contact me to discuss your issues came off as "obviously insincere invitations" and why you think posting false and negative things about my company is a good use of your "valuable time."  I just do not see what you are getting out of this?  I have no way of knowing who you are or have anyway to help you.

So it bears repeating.  Mr. Anonymous still has not contacted me after serveral offers and after I have given him all my information, so obviously this is a false, inaccurate, and vicous attempt to hurt my companies online reputation for the following reasons:

1. Mr. Anonymous - has never contacted me or my company through email, telephone, or in any way other than this site.
2.  Mr. Anonymous - has never called the Minnesota Better Business Bureau to set up a meeting or file a formal complaint because they would require his name and contact information.
3. Mr. Anonymous - has never even given us a property address for where this so called "shoddy workmanship" occured.
4.  - Clear Choice Restoration did not perform any of the work descirbed in these reports.
5-  Clear Choice Restoration has not had any theft investigations as descibed in these reports.
6 - Clear Choice Restoration has not had any issues with immigration authorities.
7 - There is a list of testimonials from actual clients on our website from recent homeowners we have worked with that are much different that this "anonymous" report.

Mr. Anonymous - I just do not understand why you have chosen to target my company and write these horrible things.  Are we a compeditor of yours or something?    

I will leave you with one more bible verse to think about:  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not rely on your own understanding.  In all your ways surrender to him, and he will direct your paths.  Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Clear Choice Restoration - still a bad idea. Nothing's changed.

Apparently, my points are not getting through. This is getting tedious.

Now you are resorting to spewing bible verses in a lame attempt to whitewash your company's dirty image?  How very smug of you. Your righteous indignation over my honest, candid and accurate report is laughable. Why don't you man up and start treating your customers with respect and clean up your operation?

Despite your obviously insincere invitations for me to contact you, I have no intention of doing so.  My homeowner's insurance has covered my losses already. It would serve no purpose to spend my valuable time talking to you, and such an encounter would not be productive to anyone. Rather, you need to start acting like a mature business owner and start thinking of your customers and others who might be impacted by your judgment. 

This is a wake-up call for you - why can't you see that? I'm trying to do you a favor here. Apparently, you're just too proud and stubborn to accept things outside of your distorted world.

So it bears repeating. Clear Choice Restoration is a bad choice for home improvement work for the following, unresolved reasons:
1. Shoddy workmanship.
2. Questionable building materials.
3. Unsafe conditions resulting from said shoddy workmanship and questionable building materials.
4. The use of sketchy employees with possible criminal backgrounds.
5. Increases in neighborhood crime rates due to said sketchy employees.

The ball is in your court, Mr. Olson.  Instead of feeding Ripoff Report readers a load of empty rhetoric, throw-away platitudes and sanctimonious religious dogma, why don't you actually prove your intent to run a legitimate business?  Show, don't tell.

Mr. Anonymous, 

You are posting inaccurate reports and I have given you my phone number but you have not called or tried to contacted me.  Again, my phone number is 651-226-7170, and I beg you to call me so I can set the record straight.  The work performed was not by me or my company.  I have nothing but GREAT reviews and I can not think of any customer that has been less than completely satisfied with our work.  In Fact, I can hardly keep up with all the referrals I have received from all our past customers.  If any of this was true do you think this spamming website would be the only place a complaint would show up?  Why have you not called the Better Business Bureau if you are so unhappy?  I have been a member for 3 years and have not received a single complaint.  Is it because then you would have to give you name and contact information?  I would be more than happy to sit down with a mediator from the BBB and figure out what you are talking about.

I have looked into the legal options and unfortunately it is not easy for me to track down your IP address since this site is located in AZ.  I would have to go through the AZ court system and honestly I don't have the time to spend on this because I am too busy taking exellent care of the homeowners I am working with.  Again, please call me or have you neighbors call me and I would be more than happy to meet with them.  I live in Roseville and am only minutes away from whatever address you are referring to and stand behind my work and always do everything possible to exceed each customer's expectations.

If you choose not to call me or contact me there is nothing I can do from here but assume this slander by one of my competitors.  Hopefully anyone who would read this would be wise enough to see it is false and slander or would call me to discuss.

There is nothing false or inaccurate in my review of Clear Choice Restoration.

I find it interesting that you never wanted to work with the people in our neighborhood who have been victims of your company, Clear Choice Restoration....until you saw a review you didn't like.
I find it interesting that you appear conciliatory now that some candid, honest reporting has been made, revealing the ugly truth about your less-than-honorable company.
I find it interesting that you deny the facts here: that Clear choice Restoration does poor-quality work, that it has a habit of hiring shady, sketchy workers, and that the crime rates spike when these people are in the area.  Shame on you.

I stand by my report. I have been victimized by criminal employees of Clear Choice Restoration, as have my neighbors who hired this dishonest and sloppy building contractor.  You didn't want to do the right thing at the time. You had your chance to man up for your mistakes. If you were honorable business people, you would take this objective and fair criticism on the chin and learn from it.  But I doubt you will.

While we sympathize with the problems that your neighbor experienced, we need to make the facts clear - The work described in the report was not performed by Clear Choice Restoration.  Additionally - We have not had a theft investigation as described here, nor do we have any issues with Immigration authorities as noted in your complaint.  We appreciate people taking the time to report their experiences, and are happy to address complaints with work we have performed, however in this case the company in question has been misidentified.   There is a list of testinomials on our website from recent homeowners we have worked with that are much different than this "anonymous" review.  Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous, if you or your neighbor have contract with someone claiming to represent Clear Choice Restoration or Steve Olson, we encourage you to contact us so that we may prevent homeowners from suffering similar occurrences.  We are a licensed and insured contractor that stands fully behind our work and value honesty & intergrity in our dealings with every customer.  We would appreciate it if you would correct this complaint and would be happy to speak to you about it in order to set the record straight.
