Clear Debt Results - CDR Very deceptive advertising, agreement, and a lot of bs! ripoff Irving Texas

When first contacted by CDR (by phone), we were told that they would take care of everything and we would not have to do anything except "pay them". Which we took as meaning that we would only have to pay CDR and we would not have to deal with the CC companies for any reason.

After reading their agreement (which was very contradictive in areas) and talking with another person at their office, who backed-up what we were initially told by the other person, we decided to go ahead and use them as our "lawful attorney in fact" for the purposes of handling a settlement with all of our creditors.

We signed their agreement and "Limited Power of Attorney" so that they could "get started on helping us get out of debt", as they put it. We still got all of the harassing phone calls and letters asking for money, from our creditors. CDR (another person we spoke with) told us to ignore them and keep track of them on a sheet of paper. We were told to send the list to them and they would send out letters to all of the CC companies letting them know that they were to have no contact with us any more, because CDR was our "lawful attorney in fact" from there on out. (Ha...Ha..)

Every time we called them, we spoke with someone else (6 people, not including the secratary?) and we're informed that they "would take care of it". "It" never happened!!

Then we found out, by talking to "one of them", that we would be resonsible for paying off the creditors. Their only job was to "negotiate" a settlement! So we figured out we just got screwed! We were suppose to pay them a couple of thousand dollars for them to do something we could have done for nothing! Every one of the creditors offered to negotiate with us, but we were told not to communicate with them in any way. They, CDR, would take care of everything!

When we confronted them about it, all they could say was "didn't you read the agreement? You signed it!" Yes we read the agreement! When I re-read the agreement again, I found (1) one sentence, near the end of the agreement that stated "client will make all settlement payments directly to creditors. (1) One sentence out of (11) eleven pages of material!

What a ripoff! They got my money and didn't do a d**n thing to help us. We since have filed bankruptcy!
