My business phone had no dial tone, so we contacted a Cleartel (Nii) Communications to send out a technician. As agreed, customer service said that if it was due to an outside issue, we would not be charged. Two technicians were sent out. The 2nd technician had to be sent out to fix the wiring that the previous tech did not repair correctly. The company charged for a trip charge $75 and a vendor dispatch charge for $206.25 a month later, which seems completely irrelevant to the service. They claimed that it was a inside issue and charged a $75 fee because no trouble was found the 2nd time. The 2nd tech told me that the previous guy did not connect the wiring correctly and that is why my phone was still not working the next day.

There should NOT be be a charge for a 2nd tech to come out. I own a business, we need a functioning phone at all times. One day of no phone service is completely unacceptable. They clearly have untrained techs which cost me my business. The order that the tech left clearly states that the problem was an outside wiring problem, not inside (service on 8/27/07 @15:30-18:30) When we were charge for a 2nd tech to be sent out because the 1st tech did not do his job correctly, is ridiculous.

These charges are ridiculouly high and completely unauthorized. NO problem was found directly to my phone, everything was clearly due to wiring problems that is the THEIR RESPONSIBILITY to fix, to be able to provide service to their consumers. When providing a phone service, it is the company's responsibility to make sure that all wiring, lines, main box, etc are functioning properly.

Cleartel Communications has unethical and extremely bad business practices.

Customer incorrect in statements

AUTHOR: Rebuttal Response - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 28, 2008

Unfortunately, Mr. Tran is not correct in his statements. He was charged a $75 fee as when the technician went out to his location there was no trouble found on the outside. His lines were tested and trouble pointed to a Ver 41, which generally means inside issues. Mr. Tran was clearly told that if the problem was inside, there would be charges to make the necessary repairs, as he did not have inside wire insurance. He agreed to the possible charges and a technician dispatch was set up. The technician made several repairs to inside wires and splice points, working for approximately 2.25 hours inside the location. This time, couple with the 1.5 hours of drive time totaled the $206.25 charge.

Mr. Tran has already disputed this with the Texas Commission and was told by them that he needed to pay the charges, which he has failed to do. The charges were authorized by this customer, and as such he is responsible for payment of the charges.
