Clef Notes Journal Publishing, Arts, Entertainment Chicago, Illinois

Clef Notes Journal doesn't pay its freelancers. In 2010, I wrote three articles for which I was to be paid .5/word. I performed extensive research and wrote each story; however, I never received any payment for my services. This was very disappointing and stressful, especially because I'd never had that kind of trouble at all with any other publication I'd written for--and I haven't since.

When I emailed my contact there, David Henley, numerous times, he would first tell me "the check was in the mail." Then he said what he said to the other complainant on this site--that he had sent it to the address they had on file. Well, if they had actually sent it, and were in good faith, when they saw that it hadn't been cashed, they'd just re-issue the check. Well, he just stopped returning my emails and I remain unpaid.
