Cloud at Cost is a VPS (Virtual Private Server) provider in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. They offer one-time payments for hosting, but once they get your money they provide no support.

Since a VPS is a dedicated chunk of a server which I have complete access and control of, I have been using it to manage and host websites and services for clients. However their service is so horribly unreliable that it's nearly impossible to do such.

Within the first month I had opened 6 support tickets, 2 of them just disappeared. It would take on average 2 days to receive a response from their "support" department, which was always that they are looking into it or that it will be escalated.

It took them over a week to inform their clients that they had been the subject of a DOS attack which was the cause of the network issues. Later they reported that other servers on their network were being comprimised and were performing DOS attacks. So they have 2 different stories both pushing the blame elsewhere.

As a professional company offering a 99.99% SLA, their lack of a proper infrustructure to handle these supposed attacks is poor planning and foresite.

They offer a 99.99% uptime SLA, which was breached several times and it took them another 2 tickets before I received a reply to my request for a proper written copy of their SLA. Which they still did not provide and their website still states that they garuntee 99.99% uptime.

As far as I'm conserned this company is extremely unprofessional and does not rely anything to their customers. They pass the buck because they don't actually know what their doing. Althou I do not have a great deal of money invested in their service, I did put quite a bit of time into it. I also have clients which I am providing hosting or other services for which are constatnly being affected.

At this point I am forced to move to another company, and spend the hours upon hours to redo all the work that I have already done. Which will be more lost time, money, and upset clients.
