Trying to warn others before buying a horse from cloud9walkers.Purchased a TWH gelding from cloud9walkers.He is extremely herd and barn sour to the point of being dangerous. This was not disclosed to us before buying him.He did not act like that at her barn when my husband looked at him.He seemed docile and very calm. The day after we brought him home he woke up and is like a different horse.I let her know about this and was told to be very assertive with him and that he came to her herd and barn sour but they worked it out of him.She never mentioned this before hand.I would have never showed interest in this horse if I would have known. This horse is extremely testy. We are experienced horse people and still got tricked.Just be careful and interview to the fullest.Just warning others to be extra careful. She has an excuse for everything and in the end makes you feel like it's your fault.

Hopefully the horse AND new owner are winners!

AUTHOR: Cloud9walkers - (United States of America)

You take excellent care of horses and always have them in top physical shape. If this horse winds up living with you and giving you good, smooth rides that he gave us, then our two years of work on him paid off, because his previous owner starved him and was happy to get ready to send him to slaughter because they got tired of feeding him, and he has now hit the jackpot with a home that would never starve him. The kids particularly loved his easy athletic canter, so it's my hope that you get to know him better as the safe riding horse that he was for all of us, and melt away some of your frustrations about his pushy ground manners. I told you before you chose him that you would not be happy with him, but I hope I turn out to be wrong in this case.

Full disclosure made to you and others before you

AUTHOR: Cloud9walkers - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, March 09, 2017

Your husband was told full history. We put over 250 lbs on that horse and a lot of time. His previous owners were going to take him and his pasture mate to a kill pen that week and we stopped them both from being slaughtered. The pasture mate has a great home and I can only hope that this one winds up in one, as well. Our photos and videos speak for themselves. Children from 7 years to 14 years old saddled and rode him without supervision. You'll get there.

Stop personal attacks

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 08, 2017

I"m experienced enough.A heads up is all I asked for.I can ride and handle a horse just fine. I got his teeth floated, sheath cleaned (2 huge beans removed),and updated on vaccinations. The vet stated that he is very underweight to say the least. In your care for 2 years and emeciated?Wow,just wow. One more time:A COMPLETE DISCLOSURE OF THE HORSES HISTORY AND ISSUES IS ALL I ASKED FOR. Stop attacking my riding and or training abilities. I do not have buyers remorse.Do not lecture me.I rode my now retired 26 year old Tennessee Walking Horse mare for many, many years and she will stay till she dies. This gelding will too.You never offered to take him back and he will stay now.You stated in an e-mail that you know the gait I'm referring to.I never complained about that mare. Can't deal with criticism? Then tell the truth about a horse you're selling to the fullest, not just partial.I never attacked your personal life nor your training or riding abilities since I don't know you well enough.I always wanted to ride with you at Angelina forest and was so disappointed when I felt you didn't tell the whole truth about this horse.Oh well,it is what it is. I chose your business to buy from after looking for a long time around where I live.I could have bought from KY or IN but chose yours. No matter it's done.

Take ownership for the consequences of your decisions

AUTHOR: Cloud9walkers - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 08, 2017

This horse was not barn sour when he left here Sunday morning. I have loaned him to countless beginner riders and the kids ride him from the barn to the pasture to the arena, and your husband ride him as well and found no evidence of him being barn sour. I never attacked your marriage, but I am saying that either you are your husband are in denial and not telling the truth that he was told the complete history on this horse. My guess is that you are giving him grief for his decision, and you simply are venting your frustrations, as usual, at the seller. How many horses have you been through ? The last horse was incredibly smooth that I warned you that if you did not know how to put a gated horse into proper gear that she would try and you assured me that you could, and after riding her for a year you were now online complaining about her. Your best bet would be to try to find a horse close to home that you can go look at it and stop buying from afar without making sure you can handle them before you purchase them One lone quarter horse does not a professional trainer make. I told you that you would not be happy with this horse and I asked you to wait two or three weeks to come, and you pushed your way forward and took him anyway. Had you asked to bring him back I would have gladly taken him but instead he resorted to a smear campaign. Once you stop complaining and maybe seek a trainers help near you you will find that he is a gentle horse and anyone can ride him. He just takes a more experienced owner to keep him from being pushy on the ground. He thinks he's human. Good luck.

Seriously

No lack of communication,we've been happily married for 15 years in spite of military life and numerous deployments. We are a couple and best friends.I'm very happy with our horses. We own a 10 year old gelding that we raised from 5 months on and we did all of his training. I did not say anything about not being able to ride this gelding or that I'm incapable of handling him.I simply said that NONE of the vices like barn and buddy sour were mentioned before hand.Got caught off guard when he showed the behavior here.Things like that need to be disclosed before hand via phone or message.Seller didn't have to trade.I asked if she would like to and she said yes. What on earth has wanting a different horse to do with not telling all the facts about a horse? She sells her personal horses all the time.I don't have the right too?

I'm perfectly capable of handling him but should not have to fix stuff like that for that price.I would not have chosen this horse if I would have known his history. My son's registered mare was a rescue.Paid 750$ and for that price did not have a problem training her and bringing her up to weight. For the last time all I'm saying is the horse's full history and all of his issues need to be disclosed BEFORE HAND.This is not the place to attack my marriage and if and why I would like to buy a different for myself.I was on the phone with my husband most of the time while he was down there.Seller was also giving lessons and riding another horse. Her husband and mine were talking guy stuff.

Lack of communication between spouses, shifting blame

AUTHOR: Cloud9walkers - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 08, 2017

Hubby is trying to cover himself. My husband and I spent all morning with him and I told him the history on this horse in-depth as well as the history of this horses pasture mate, which he is now denying. I opened the gate for him as he left our property and ask him one more time if he was sure his wife was assertive enough for a pushy horse . This source is the first horse to come in out of a pastor and put his nose in a halter but he also likes to lean up against you which I teach my not to invade my personal space. The husband rode this horse before he took home and determined himself that he was great, and didn't even try the other two. These people chose these three horses to try, against my recommendation because they were so eager to get rid of the nice mare that they already had for a year and had sent me several photos of them enjoying her. Anyone in the world can ride this gelding they took home, and he has never been dangerous. We used him for two years in parades, camping trips, horse lessons, ponying colts, working cattle. I'm not sure what these people have done with him in the first 24 hours that they had any issues but they did write me and tell me that he was very smooth. Hoping that they finally get happy with a horse one day.

Only remorse I have is loosing my hard earned money in dealing with cloud9walkers

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 07, 2017

I have no buyers remorse. She admitted after I brought the horse home that he has barn and buddy sour issues and that he is a rescue.I simply said this needed to be disclosed before hand.I'm sorry that I left the not smooth (she said in e-mail she knows the gait I"m referring to) but very healthy and in good flesh mare with her.She will now most likely become emeciated like the gelding. This mare was very sick and thin when I got her from this seller.I have vet records to proof that as well. The gelding now receives vet care as he is missing not just fat and muscle but also essential minerals and vitamins.I certainly should not have traded with her.My only other regret is to have taken my hard earned money to this business. There are other places. I'm moving on now.

New owner of first mare is happy. Second horse is smooth, happy to share video. All the kids could handle this horse, and we gave riding lessons on him. So sorry that he is now in the hands of someone who can't.

My husband was never warned about this horse nor was he stopped by this seller at the gate. She asked me if I could wait two or three weeks in that middle of the night Facebook message. She never mentioned that she will have a nice horse for me then. She did talk this horse that we got up.Super nice horse and so on. The second horse was 12 years not 10 years.

Tell the whole story!!

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 07, 2017

The first young mare I purchased had bucking issues and I thought she might need more training so I asked for something different.I chose the oldest one of the three that were offered. The other two were 4 years old and I thought that might be too green again. This older mare does not have a smooth gait and when I asked about it in an e-mail she said she knows the gait I'm referring to.I said a shorter horse is a plus but not a must. She offered me a very green gelding which I said no to.I too have this conversation in writing.I asked about another gelding I saw on her facebook and she said she would sent me the info on him.She never did.She always said I'll get to it just too busy right now.I asked about a gelding she had for sale

on her website that was in the price range and is described as a fun smooth horse probably gentle for anyone to ride.It was NEVER mentioned in the ad or via any messages that this horse is a rescue with numerous issues. She did say I would not be happy with him but NEVER said why.She offered the appointment time and tried to cancel via Facebook message in the middle of the night saying they have the flu.My husband had already left for Texas. When he got there nobody seemed sick. The horse on the other hand was emeciated. He seemed calm and quiet. The other little gelding was way too green and

the one where I never received info about seemed pissy and hot.We chose the gelding we brought home because he seemed like the best choice although VERY underweight.Alot of her horses are.The issues this horse has were Never disclosed until after the fact.I blame myself for taking this horse even though he is emeciated. My husband should have left without doing the trade.I'm simply saying when you buy from her to ask more questions and to be careful. She never told me or my husband about this horses past and issues. She said to be assertive which you have to be with any horse. She NEVER mentioned that he is barn and buddy sour.I will attach a picture today of how emeciated he is.

Slander occurs when people don't tell the WHOLE story

AUTHOR: Cloud9walkers - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 07, 2017

Two years ago, this woman purchased a young mare we raised and trained, kept her a year and wanted to trade for something older. At no additional cost, I traded her a beautiful gentle 10-yr-old mare and she ride her for a year. Then this year she calls and wants to trade her for something smaller. I told her I did not have anything at the time. She made plans to send her husband here to Texas to look at three choices, and I told her that none of them were suitable. One was too green, one was too hot and the third had many issues that she would not be happy with. She sent him down anyway. Right

before he left, I wrote her again and reminded her that she would not be happy with the horse with issues, and if she would wait 2 or 3 more weeks, I would have another nice horse to show her. She insisted on sending her husband anyway. (I have this complete conversation in print, if anyone would like confirmation). He drove down, rode the horse she chose, and refused to try out the other two. I stated repeatedly that this horse must go to an assertive home, because I rescued him from some owners who were not feeding him and had taught him to be spoiled, but we hauled him for two years and every

kid here rode him, on trail rides, on camping trips, at the lake, at the beach, in horse show clinics, etc. We used him to work cattle and pony colts and he rode double and triple. We have lots of videos and photos of all our times with him. While her husband was here, I told him this horse's entire history and all of the things he did when we got him, and how we had trained him out of it, but that I believed he would revert back to those behaviors if not handled correctly. He assured me that they were assertive, competent horse handlers. I even stopped him at the gate, right before he pulled out of my property

and asked one more time if he was sure that his wife would be assertive enough for this horse's personality. He assured me that she was and that they had studied clinicians. This is a case where the buyer was told it was a horse that would not make her happy, but she believed she knew better. Anyone interested in a copy of our communication, as well as pics and video of our good times with this horse for two years is welcome to all, as well as references to other buyers who were interested in him whom I turned away, but the difference was that they heeded my advice. I was looking for the perfect owner for him, and this woman and her husband assured me that they were.
