CMC Engineering CMC Chemical Phone and shipping scam Mississauga, Ontario

We are an apartment complex. Someone called a couple of weeks and just asked for the name of the person in charge of maintenance. It sounded fishy so I gave a fake name. Then today the same person called and said they'd been dealing with that fake-name person and that I had asked for help with drainline issues.

When he first called I asked for a physical address and he gave me one in the same state as me but a different city. While I was stringing him along I was Googling the address, which was another apartment complex. And he couldn't even pronounce the street name correctly. He didn't know how far his fake city was from mine. He made up info about how long 'fake-name' had been there. It was clearly a scam.

What he wanted to do was send, via UPS, large amounts of Green Gobbler drain cleaner that we didn't order and bill us, saying 'fake-name' had ordered it. UPS would be an unwitting partner.

I've seen a couple of addresses for them, one in Farmingdale NY, and one near Ontario, Canada. Whichever it is, CMC Chemical is up to no good.
