CMI Exclusives CMI XCLUSIVEMO FEE Charged home phone $20 for services I did not request!! Scam!! Internet

I noticed my Verizon bill had the following on it that was unusual:
'HOLD BILLING SERV Charges'

'Billing on behalf of HeadWind Media Inc.'

'Dec 10 CMI XCLUSIVEMO FEE $20'

I googled this information and found this website, which prompted my phone call to the company.

There was a contact phone number on my verizon bill for CMI that I called, and after a 20 minute wait on hold I spoke to a male.  I provided my phone number and name, after all, they already had that information.  I told him in no uncertain terms I wanted whatever fraudulent account under my name and phone number cancelled and that there were to be no further charges on my phone line.  He told me he was cancelling the account and provided a confirmation number, which was probably just made up.

I contacted verizon and as always their customer service was top notch.  The person I spoke to credited my account for the charges and also placed a block on my account so that simliar charges couldn't be placed against it in the future.  I have never had a need to charge anything to my home phone line, so I had no problem with that.  The verizon rep stated that this sort of thing happens 'all the time'.

I'd like to get ahold of these jackasses that nickel and dime folks with their petty schemes.
