As with the other CMS Enterprises report, two people came to my home to sell me a Kirby Sentra by demonstrating to me. I also had to wait approximately 30 minutes while they finished at another home supposedly.
The demonstration was good (not great), but I had always wanted a Kirby sinece watching the demonstrations as a child, so sat with Deborah Chambers and her partner (I do not remember his name, but know Clint Schmidt is the owner of CMS Enterproses, so his name is included in the report - you will wee why later) to discuss finances.
I was PROMISED 1 year SAME AS CASH yet was stupid enough to not notice it was not written on the contract. I had even asked them about the finance charge written on the contact, and was told it would be "waived" once I paid off the amount of $1,500.00 which was my "total" for the Kirby.
One year later, when I called Preferred Credit (the company carrying the account) for the amount to pay off the Kirby (or so I thought), I was told there was nothing written on the contract to show what I was promised, although I had paid an amount each month that allowed me to pay the required $1,500.00 by the year's end.
When I contacted Deborah Chambers, she continued to either avoid me calls, or when I did manage to contact her, she would tell me she was with a client and would call me back, then NEVER return my calls.
Upon contacting Preferred Credit once again, I was told that they would attempt to contact Deborah to see if she would confirm the "same as cash" agreement and they would waive the fees.
I called once again today and was told that Preferred Credit had spoken with the owner, Clint Schmidt, in March 2011 and again in June 2011, and he stated there were no 'same as cash' policies with CMS Enterprises. HOWEVER, I have been calling Preferred Credit repeatedly since this all started, and this is the first time I have been told of these contacts with him although I have been requesting Preferred Credit contact CMS Enterprises regarding this issue since December 2010!
I don't know what else to do except take my case to the public. Can YOU help?? Perhaps if enough people call her, she'll get the message that we are not going to take this lying down! (By the way, the numbers for CMS Enterprises have been disconnected, so I have been unable to contact Clint Schmidt myself!)
